It all started 9 years ago when I started dating Diane’s son (my now husband). For our first Valentine’s day I made him chocolate chip cookies in the shape of hearts. Diane tried one and said, yep, this girl can bake. Diane has been making every flavor Christmas cookie under the sun since 1993. After tasting my chocolate chip cookie that day she brought me on as her helper and we would bake away during the holidays. Fast forward a few years and we have decided to make this a full time adventure!

I am a small, one woman-operated home bakery that specializes in custom buttercream cakes and macarons for birthdays, engagement parties, and small weddings. I began as a cake artist in 2020 and have fallen in love with creating realistic buttercream flowers and piping vintage-style Lambeth cakes.

Hello! I'm Jillian, I have been baking since childhood. In the early days, I was always the girl who made cupcakes for friends and provided sweet treats for holidays and parties. Baking remained a hobby for me as I pursued an education in massage therapy and developed coffee-making and customer service skills at the local Starbucks. I started growing the idea of Rose & Petal Cakery in 2019 in the midst of the pandemic. Hello friends! I’m a nonbinary (they/them) artist, cat parent, and first-time business owner. I derailed my 4-year college plan to work in a restaurant and then attend pastry school - which is how I landed in Rhode Island. I needed a field that was both regimented and creative and pastry delivered! I’ve baked in Providence for over 6 years, and I couldn’t imagine ever leaving the incredible network of small food businesses that I’ve been welcomed into. Every cake and frosting is made by me, from scratch - no fondant in my kitchen! My favorite designs are those that capture the personalities and passions of my incredible clients.

In 2018 Seacoast Sweets moved to Rhode Island from Massachusetts. Since then, Seacoast Sweets has continued to grow online, in destination hotels throughout New England, tourist locations, weddings, and events, at boutique retailers, and as a popular corporate gift.

Petrova Chocolates was established in 2020 and since then we have been focusing on creating eye-catching, artisanal chocolate bonbons, truffles, chocolate bars and caramels with unique flavor combinations. Our chocolates are the perfect sweet touch to every event whether as a guest gift, a chocolate dessert table set-up or as a delicious name tag at every guest's seat. CHIC is a culmination of my retail, styling, and design background. Truthfully, the idea of this little biz was created while on lockdown during the pandemic, a little unorthodox I know, but I was determined. I identified this gap in the market the summer prior... after struggling to find a pretty dessert cart for an event at my client's new business launch. Viola! CHIC cotton candy was born, serving the cosmopolitan Boston market; giving a traditional childhood treat-- a chic upgrade. Wherever the party is, we want to be there for you! xo
