Requiem Images

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,750
  • Serves Washington, DC

We're a pair of super fun wedding photographers, filmmakers + elopement planners (also officiants) and we're already your biggest fan <3 Award winning! Multi published! Featured in magazines! Neurodivergent! LGBTQ+! Artistic! Unique! Vintage videos! One-of-a-kind timelapse films! We love working with film + vintage video cameras, capturing little moments others forget about, and creating portraits that would make David Lynch + Alexander McQueen weep with excitement. Contact us anytime day or night and we'll be super pumped to get to know you and explain more of what makes us so unique.

I cannot recommend Requiem Images enough. I randomly found them on Instagram when I was searching for an elopement photographer. Being a photographer myself, I am extremely particular and was a bit afraid I’d never find someone to live up to my expectations. Not only did kitty meet my expectations, she exceeded them. From start to finish, I was impressed with the professionalism and love that poured out of this amazing human. I am, per my own designation, an incredibly awkward subject. I’m used to hiding behind the camera, but Kitty made me feel so comfortable. I honestly can’t believe the images she was able to capture. Her attention to detail and ability to make people feel at ease are truly a gift. Not only did I use her for our elopement, but I also subsequently hired her for our family pictures, and then my own branding session. She has raw talent and an eye for the extraordinary. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Requiem Images to everyone I know (or don’t know!). Book them immediately. You will not regret it!!

We hired Love, Lomax as our wedding photographer which included an engagement shoot, and were BLOWN AWAY with her work! From the start Karisa was very easy to work with and is an incredibly kind, caring person. A photographer captures really intimate moments, and my husband and I felt so comfortable with her. She did a great job coaching us through the poses and went to a variety of locations to make sure we got all the shots. Specifically for the wedding, she was incredibly organized by sending us a wedding questionnaire and creating a very detailed timeline, making sure she knew all the important photos we wanted to get. On my wedding day, she felt like one of my friends and was hyping my husband and I up all day. She was super respectful of our time and made sure we got photos efficiently so we could enjoy as much time with our family and friends. Regarding her work, she is an AMAZING photographer. We got so many compliments on our engagement and wedding photos, many people saying they look like they could have been in a magazine. All of my friends and family that interacted with Karisa on our wedding day spoke so highly of her and said we made the right decision hiring her. I cannot recommend Love, Lomax enough!!

When I am not behind the camera or editing photos, I enjoy short Uber rides to bottomless brunch on the weekends; right now mimosas and I kinda have a thing going on! I have a special relationship with bourbon and FIRMLY believe in putting food on the grill during late afternoons should be the norm. I am blessed to be married to the happiest person on earth (I am so serious), who just happens to double as my favorite person. She keeps me grounded and never fails to remind me how great she is.

Awarded Best of Zola
Wow can’t say enough amazing things about this photographer, he truly was one of the highlights of our wedding. Don’t walk to book him run! He was super focused, detail orientated, bilingual, fun and laid back. He captured so many incredible behind the scene moments and my family kept saying we didn’t even see him take that picture. We were nervous about not knowing how to pose. He made us so comfortable and had amazing poses. He captured intimate moments of our families reactions during the ceremony, speeches and partying. He helped the day flow so well and we couldn’t believe how amazing the pictures were. The turn around time for the pictures was also super fast. We had a bad experience with a photographer prior who ended up being a scammer and he truly saved our wedding day!! Thank you!

Hi there! I’m Sharon! I am a long-time professional photographer, a former award-winning photojournalist, and an official photographer for the Canadian Embassy. I love photographing weddings and I provide beautiful, bold, and romantic images for my couples to treasure forever.

Awarded Best of Zola
I have nothing but positive things to say about Mrs. Sharon. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with her after she was hired but a videographer for our wedding in September 2024. She was kind and passionate. Mrs. Sharon remained professional and throughout the last two years we have had contact here and there; she has gone above and beyond what she was contracted to do, and is truly a phenomenal person outside of her professional capabilities. I highly recommend Mrs. Sharon and know anyone working with her will feel the same satisfaction, dedication, and love she offers through her communication and while capturing special moments.

Chris Ferenzi Photography

5.0

Washington, DC
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,600

Hey, I'm Chris! Dog-lover, latte-lover, gym-lover, and cookie-lover I justify the cookies by going to the gym. One of my life goals is to have enough dogs (dachshunds and corgis) to create a sled team. I will use this sled team to pull myself around while shooting your wedding. I’m joking, unless you really want me to, in which maybe WE should get married.

Awarded Best of Zola
When reviewing my wedding photos that Chris did, I am continuously grateful that we chose him to do our photography. Not only did the photos come out spectacular, he made us so comfortable throughout the process. Anyone seeing his finished product can see that he’s talented. Yet one misses in the photos is the man behind the camera who truly went out of his way to be a solid rock for a day that can be chaotic at times. He really felt like family during our wedding day and so seamlessly fit in with all our friends and family invited. I would, and have, recommended him again and again to other couples getting married. You won’t regret it.

Aimee Custis Photography

Washington, DC
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $5,500

I'm Aimee, and I believe in wedding photos lasting forever and telling your story in a way that spans across generations. Your story might be a civil ceremony with a rainbow chuppah, just the three of us and a witness on your front porch, a gorgeous celebration with your overflowing circle of friends + family, or a traditional church ceremony like the one your parents had 40 years ago. Whatever it is, we want to capture and preserve the moments that make it special to you.

Awarded Best of Zola
We instantly clicked with Aimee, right from our first meeting with her. It was important to us that we liked our vendors as people, not just professionals, and we got that and more with Aimee! Since we hired Aimee before we hired our coordinator, her advice was invaluable to our timeline and aesthetics. She answered countless questions and coordinated seamlessly with us and our other vendors. When the day of the wedding came, she was on time, kept to the schedule, and was just fun to be around. Many of the members of our wedding party told us how much they liked Aimee and her assistant. During the actual party, they blended in so much that I honestly forgot they were there! She really went the extra mile for us. After the wedding, she continued to answer questions for us as we designed and ordered our album. She captured exactly the look we were going for. Aimee is a great person and a great photographer. We can't recommend her enough!

I am a photographer based in Washington, DC, specializing in weddings and portraits, with a focus on creating joyful, romantic, and timeless images. It would be an honor to document the significant moments in your life. I believe each event deserves to be celebrated with heartfelt enthusiasm and attention to detail.

Awarded Best of Zola
Barbora was a joy to have photograph our wedding (and engagement photos!)! Our photos speak for themselves — she captured our day authentically and beautifully! We couldn’t be happier with how she was able to perfectly capture our joy, love and the beautiful surroundings. We really appreciated how she went above and beyond to get the perfect shot/angle, scrambling up stairs, hiding in trees, pre-visiting our venue to scope out spots, and working SO hard for such a long time. She recommended poses and reviewed our photos list the week before, which helped make sure we didn’t miss anything :) She also did SUCH a great job arranging our flat lay photos, helping organize family photos and jumping in to capture candid photos throughout the night! Not to mention, we got our photos back quickly and there were so many! She is responsive, helpful and truly a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend hiring her for any photography needs, but especially a wedding!!!

Stefan A. Photography

Washington, DC
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $2,000

Making personal connection with you is important to me. I believe in serving couples from every background and the more I learn about you the better I can serve you as your wedding photographer. I currently reside in DC but have also living in LA, The Bay Area, and Morocco.

Awarded Best of Zola
If I could give Stefan ten stars, I would. Working with him was an incredible experience from start to finish. He did our engagement photos and our wedding photos and for the former he traveled to New York so we could do the shoot at a location that has a great deal of meaning to us. My husband and I are not people who are usually comfortable in front of a camera, but Stefan goes above and beyond to make sure he is prepared and that you are prepared to have the best shoot possible. He has detailed guides for both engagement and wedding shoots, which were incredibly helpful. He also meets with you to discuss your goals for the shoot, get to know who you are as a couple, and understand the vibe you are going for. Our engagement shoot was on a cold and windy day in a location unfamiliar to him and he did research, arrived early, and knocked it out of the park. For our wedding day, the timeline went exactly to plan and any stress or nerves I was feeling completely melted away because we already knew Stefan was on top of it, knew what we wanted from the day, and that we had a rapport going between us. On our wedding day, our friends and family absolutely gushed about Stefan and how great he is. I can't tell you how many times someone came up to me and said, "Who is your photographer? He is AWESOME." Stefan's style is authentic and he is incredibly skilled. The photos are breathtaking without seeming unnatural or overworked. He is great at capturing your vibe as a couple and making sure that comes through in the photos. He is so easy to get along with and can make even the least photogenic among us (pointing at myself here) comfortable in front of the camera. He is a great photographer and an even more delightful human being and I would recommend him to absolutely anyone.

Where do I even begin with this review?! Jennifer has been an absolute gift to work with throughout our wedding planning process, and now that we just go our sneak peeks back, we know we made the right choice with her! We did not use Jennifer for our engagement pictures, so I knew I was taking a risk when hiring her as our wedding day photographer. I was confident with what I saw on social media and our email correspondence ensured me that she would make a great fit for us. She was communicative along the entire way and was intentional when asking for our shot list. On the day of, it was very clear that she was very purposeful in capturing all of my preferred shots and made a dedicated effort to be present for each moment of the day. Jennifer was very professional and both her and her second shooter, Alex, found fun and creative ways to capture unique imagery from our ceremony and reception. She was attentive to our needs as a couple, made lots of great photo recommendations, and did not push us to do any pictures/poses we weren't into. Jennifer knew we wanted to be a part of cocktail hour and was happy to accommodate all of our formal pictures before the ceremony. She was discreet during the ceremony and captured lots of wonderful group shots at the reception. A week before the event she was happy to add on a few additional hours from our original contract. I truly cannot recommend her enough!

Hey I’m Mark! A photographer and videographer based in Washington, DC, originally from sunny central Florida. I’ve been honored to have my personal creative work featured in Stencil Magazine and The Phoblographer. With experience ranging from Disney’s Photopass program to weddings, events, and even automotive photography, I bring a diverse skill set to every shoot. My passion for capturing moments and my technical expertise in both photography and videography ensure that each session is tailored to create timeless, captivating imagery.

We found "Mark Joven Photography" through my fiancé who worked with him before during group trips with his friends. I really liked the photos he took we booked him for our engagement photos and he did NOT disappoint at ALL! He brought two assists with him and spent 2 days taking photos for us at multiple locations of our choosing! Mark was very professional and made each day go by seamlessly! We hung out like old friends and made a day of Magic Kingdom after taking our photos at our favorite places in the park! We got all our shots back within a week of taking them and they were all so beautiful I cried! They are some of the best pictures I’ve ever had! We decided to hire him for our wedding as a videographer and backup photographer should we need him! Also his prices are SUPER reasonable and affordable! If you’re looking to book him I wouldn’t hesitate! I’m pretty sure we’re gonna use him for future milestones! Mark is definitely a 10/10 and as a former photographer myself I am VERY picky when it comes to my photography so I can say I don’t say 10/10 unless i truly mean it!!

Sam Hurd Photography

Washington, DC

  • Starts at $5,000

My style is distinct, a result of both my unrelenting commitment to my craft and complete trust from clients who commission me. You’re not going to read about any awards, badges, or “top 10 lists” because what matters is you’re in love with the work that you see and are ready to trust me entirely to do what I do. This trust drives me to find the perfect balance between creative experimentation and honest documentation.

Can't recommend Sam enough. Not only is his work some of the best I've seen and is well known around the world, but he is also just super chill to work with. He lets videographers do their thing and is very easy going with the couples and vendors he works with.

Natasha Lamalle Photography

Washington, DC
  • Photojournalistic style

The best way to tell honest stories is through keen observation. How do I know? Because I spent 15 years as a journalist before becoming a wedding photographer. By paying attention to the ways you interact with your loved ones, I capture the in-between moments that will, one day, be significant. And using a trained eye and subtle approach, I do so unobtrusively.

Awarded Best of Zola
Natasha gave us more than just photographs, she gave us an exhilarating experience. She took us on a beautiful dance in and out of crowds through Union Station. Capturing the essence of our joy once my wife and I placed eyes on each other for our first look. Then taking us to Union Market to bring us and our friends together, capturing tender moments of joy and laughter. And finally, our wedding, where singing, dancing and love was reflected in every photo of not only my wife and I, but also those that were there to celebrate with us.

Growing up in rural Virginia my intro to photography came to me at 14 while breaking into abandoned houses with friends to take photos that can only be describe in retrospection as “experimental”. Fast forward a handful of years and I found myself going 'legit' and holding a BFA in photography, later finding yet more perspective and cutting my teeth shooting society events in NYC. Having now spent more years of my life taking photos than not, it’s safe to say that I’m all in.

When all of our wedding plans fell through because of COVID-19, we opted for a socially-distant micro wedding at a park. We somehow made it happen with just over 48hrs to plan! We knew we wanted a photographer to help us capture our special day, even if it didn't have all the bells and whistles, and were so lucky to have found Cassidy on such short notice. He was such a pleasure to work with. He was incredibly flexible (we changed our venue the night before the wedding) and very communicative. To top it off, our photos turned out so beautiful and made our adhoc wedding seem a bit more romantic and put together. He captured laughter and love! We loved his work and will recommend him to friends.

On your Wedding Day and we want your personality to shine through in all of your wedding photos. You're going to have the best day ever and we'll be there to photograph every laugh, tear, and moment you wish you could remember forever! Our couples come from every walk of life and we love that they know they can be who they are with us! Comfort is key when it comes to choosing your Wedding Photographer because we're capturing your memories on the biggest days of your life. On the day of your wedding, you’ll say "I do", blink and it’ll be over. It's ok though! You’ll sleep easy knowing you'll always be able to look back at your Wedding Day in bright, beautiful color when you receive your wedding photos in about 4-6 weeks.

Nicole and Jose of Bokeh Lane Photography are simply wonderful! So energetic and creative! They shot our engagement session and are slated to shoot our wedding whenever COVID allows for that. We wanted a photographer that has a great eye for candid shots and heard about these two from a friend who had their engagement and wedding shot by them. My friend’s pictures were beautiful, so I reached out to Nicole and Jose. They helped us with every step of the process, even with picking out outfits before the shoot. They’re kind and professional and just so easy to work with. I am not used to being in front of the camera, whereas my fiance is a natural in front of the camera. I told them that up front and they made sure to make me feel comfortable while just letting my fiance be himself, and the pictures came out so great! They are highly responsive as far as communication goes and prices are extremely reasonable for such high quality work. Highly highly recommend!

The Lauren Louise Collective

5.0

Washington, DC
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $7,500

I was born and raised in a quiet seaside town on the South Shore of Long Island. I grew up in a place where good, strong love grows with parents who have been together since they were 16 years old. They taught me that true love grows in the face of hardship and, as strong believers in their faith, that love is, indeed, patient and kind. And so as soon as I realized that wedding photography didn’t have to be posed and mechanical; that I could shoot weddings from a more organic and authentic lens; that I could document a story, not direct one, I was hooked!

Having a good photographer was one of my priorities for my wedding. I knew the day was going to be a whirlwind and I wanted to be able to look back and at least have one photo where my eyes weren’t closed or something. Lauren absolutely delivered — I don’t think we’ve ever looked as good in pictures and I know I probably won’t again!! Lauren also recommended Elizabeth for our day-of coordinator and I don’t know what we would have done without her — I definitely would have lost my mind, of that I’m sure. First, I can’t overstate the importance of finding a photographer with whom you have a good rapport — Lauren has this charisma where you instantly feel at ease and like you’ve known her your whole life. It frankly made me less nervous and I think that translates really well in the photos. She’s also a master of making you look the best in posed photos - giving little positioning directions that you look elegant without looking stiff. Every time I look at the pictures I’ll notice another candid moment that Lauren managed to capture or simply marvel at how she somehow can translate emotion in a still picture — I find myself smiling and definitely not crying (jk definitely crying) because you can FEEL what we were feeling in these photos. Second, get you a planner who is superhuman. Elizabeth took over six weeks (!) before the wedding and it was like a literal weight was lifted from my shoulders. At our first meeting she went through her checklist (and mine bc of course I had my own) and said “I’ll take care of it” to literally everything... and then...did?? I was fully prepared to have to follow up with vendors and micromanage but I basically didn’t have to do anything. It was magical. Elizabeth and her team did so much work and went above and beyond in literally every way to ensure we had a perfect day. Anyway, if you’re struggling with choosing a photographer because there are 72525 million to choose from, and you like the style of Lauren’s photos, go for it ASAP. Lauren is incredible and I feel so lucky that we were able to work with her.
