Field of Flowers is an event venue located on a 27-acre farm in New Waverly, Texas. The original home was built in 1887 and was moved from Willis, Texas. In 2011, the owners made vast improvements which now presents a 4,000 square foot East Texas school house style home. The home is surrounded by hay fields and a two-acre stocked pond. The eastern section of the property is host to The Good Stuff flower farm.

“Oak Tree Manor,” as it was originally called, sits on its historic site on Spring Stuebner Road and is surrounded by century-old oak trees, some more than two hundred years old. Today, Oak Tree Manor and its majestic oaks continue to overlook the weddings of countless couples as they take the first few steps of their married lives. Your wedding at Palm Royal Villa will begin in one of two get-ready suites, both of which are elegantly furnished to create relaxing atmospheres. One of these suites is painted a pale pink and comes with chic chaise lounges, four vanities, and a floral accent wall. The other has a metallic color scheme, comfortable black leather couches, and a flat screen TV. From here, you will make your way down the grand staircase to the main level for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Round and banquet tables, Chiavari chairs with cushions, and floor-length black and white linens. Your event just got more sophisticated. When you book with Brandt 1910 you are adding historical style and class to your wedding, party, or private event. Built in 1910 by F.D. Brandt, the "Coca-Cola" building was originally constructed as a general store. Later, the building was split in two to make room for a pharmacy which complimented the nearby local doctor's office which was run by Dr. J.T. Mize, Physician, and Surgeon from 1920 - 1944. The general store, pharmacy, and doctor's office played an integral role in supporting the local commerce that was brought in by the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railroad. In the 1960s the general store was sold and over the years played host to a number of restaurants and an antique store which was owned by Cal Ray Schluter who believed in preserving the old building for future generations. In 2022, Mr. Schluter sold the building to Joshua and Natalie DeJong with the purpose of restoring and preserving the building for its historic beauty.

The town of Navasota was founded in 1854 and the tracks brought the railroad by 1859. One of the first buildings built here was a hotel, built by Ms. Louisa Loftin. She was quite the ambitious widow for a woman during the late nineteenth century. Conflicting research shows the hotel was either built as early as 1860 or as late as 1876. She soon met and married P. A. Smith and the hotel bore his name. At first, the railroad brought a great number of patrons, but, unfortunately, the Civil War brought the economy of Navasota as well as the success of the hotel, down, after only a few years.

Built for the Richard S. Willis family in 1854. Hodge Podge Lodge was originally called "Melrose" in memory of an estate owned by his ancestors in Scotland. The home started as a four room, story and a half house with a detached kitchen. Throughout the house, one can trace the outline of the original footprint by noticing the wide plank flooring in the parlor, formal dining room and library. During the civil war era the massive lawn, with huge oak and pecan trees, quickly became a favorite place for many young people in town for picnics and family gatherings.
