It's a long story but a french woman by the name of Florette sparked my interest at 6 years old. I visited her at her home, which was her shop as well, my whole childhood. My grandfather Herman Kanlund, was one of the first florists in San Diego to be a part of FTD in 1936. He started his floral business on ten acres of roses and tulips in Kearny Mesa, SD.
