We stayed because of the endlessly supportive team, the flexibility of the space, and the beauty of the venue. Kristine Herrold, the site’s wedding coordinator, goes way out of her way to ensure a good experience. She even arranged a bond fire (bonfire??) for us for a private ceremony the night before our wedding!!! The only downside is that it is a “blank canvas” that required some design (especially the ceremony space). It is also a working vineyard so access can be an issue at times. All of these issues were resolved. We had the most beautiful wedding!!! Everyone had a great time!!! Especially us!!!! Oh and the wines are amazing. They answered our questions quickly, and were extremely flexible and helpful the week of our wedding. We were able to bring up boxes earlier in the week, set up the day before our wedding, and had private access to the grounds/taproom on our wedding day. As a queer couple, we also loved that Bad Seed partners with Big Gay Hudson Valley year-round, so we already knew they would be a queer-affirming space and our wedding day was no different. Very sweet, pleasant, communicative, prompt and was reliable regarding concerns I have. \n\nFast forward to our wedding day, 12/8, it was perfect and everything I could ask for. Reid, the maitre d, took over and made everything seamless. Placed all my DIY decorations as they should be and more, turned my vision to reality. Very mellow guy. Patient, sweet, chill and very attentive to our needs. Our wedding party loved him! \n\nAnd Barbara, our bridal attendant, what a doll! Very nurturing presence. She was very lowkey and whatever I asked help for, it was magically done right away. I asked for food or drink, done. Honestly, all the staff had been awesome to us, including the bartenders, the waiters. It was perfect, none that gave us headaches at all. \n\nAnd the food. Our guests couldn't stop raving about it. It was delicious and never ending. I wanted to attend to any wedding at East Wind just to have a great dinner and experience everything again. We hosted our ceremony up in the pasture and our cocktail hour down and around the barn. The possibilities were endless and we were able to shape the space and use it exactly how we wanted. Working with Jessi made that easy because she was always there to give us advice and make sure all our bases were covered and we weren’t missing anything important. \n\nWe decided to go to an indoor location for our reception because we knew it would get cold at night in late October, but if we were there at a warmer time, the Barn would also be an amazing spot for a reception. \n\nOur guests could not get over the views and the cows!
