I was initially skeptical about using an online florist there wasn't much information on Poppy Flowers that I could find. However, all my trepidation disappeared when I spoke with my personal consultant Alicia H. She was more amazing than I can express. We scheduled a Zoom meeting based on my schedule, we went over my vision, venue and overall feel that I wanted at my wedding even opening my Pinterest page. Alicia was not only professional, a wealth of knowledge and experience but went above and beyond for me. Unfortunately, I was unable to book due to constraints on my end alone. I have no doubt that my vision wouldn't have been anything short of amazing with the Poppy Flowers.

I was initially weary to hire a national florist rather than a local one, but once speaking with my poppy team, I was sold. They took my inspiration and ran with it! I loved them because they took so much stress of me. After the initial consult, I barely had to do anything. Closer to wedding day, I was put in contact with my florist, gave her my venue info and she handled everything! With everything I had to plan and worry about, it was nice knowing Poppy had my flowers covered. They came and set up my arch and isle clusters and made sure all my florals went where I had planned for them.

We have a $2,000 minimum for custom floral pieces.

It’s never too early to get in touch about your wedding, but we recommend having a few details figured out before you do. For example: Have you selected the location for your ceremony and/or reception? What’s your wedding style? Do you know how many guests you’ll be expecting? While we can service some weddings as near as 3-4 months out, typically, our couples reach out around 6 to 8 months before their big day. We also book weddings more than 12 months before the wedding date.

But I found the bridesmaids bouquets, clouds and corsages to be a little lackluster to be honest. \n\nWorking with Poppy isn’t really a “personal” experience - you submit a Pinterest board and your floral consultant finds pics that match your requests. If they don’t have one to match, they’ll use your inspo pic but I found that to come with a price jump. Like I mentioned, you don’t get to meet or talk to the florist who will be making the arrangements so if that’s important to you (which I realized for me, it was), then Poppy might not be for you. \n\nI realized I wanted to actually pick the flowers out myself and felt there was a little disconnect between their database photos and what I envisioned. Then it started to feel like every move I made bumped the price up….which I learned is typical of the wedding industry but, I digress. \n\nI initially thought Poppy wouldn’t be as expensive as it ended up being for what we got. But it adds up really quickly. To save a TON of money, we ended up DIY-ing our centerpieces, cake display, flower crowns, to save a few bucks (through Flower Moxie) and surprisingly loved them more than the florists I invited some guests/bridal party to help make them and it ended up being a highlight of our wedding week - sidenote! \n\nAnyway - to sum up, if you have a healthy budget for florals and aren’t picky (I didn’t think I was but realized I am!)
