My husband, Jeff, and I fell in love with this venue at first sight. We love how private and intimate it is. The castle is completely gated and surrounded by dense trees. You would never know that such an oasis exists just outside of Chicago. When you enter the gate, you drive on a long driveway to the top where you see the castle sitting on the hill. It's quite impressive and reminds me of destination weddings in Europe. The best part is that you don't have to leave the country.\n\nWe decided to opt for the outdoor reception, which is their most expensive option because it involves a plan B in case of bad weather. The plan B was to host a reception in one of their gorgeous ballrooms. We could choose between two. However, the outdoor reception was so worth it. We were lucky enough to have a perfect sunny day without it being too hot. The venue's booking manager told us that September is their most popular month for weddings, and now I understand why—the weather was absolutely perfect. The team at Meyer's Castle was very friendly, professional, and always responded to our questions in a timely manner. It was totally worth it to hire their Month-Off coordinator, Kate. She was amazing! They also have a list of preferred vendors who they don't force you to hire but recommend based on their experience with them. We hired a photographer and a cake vendor from Meyer's Castle's list, and we were extremely happy we did.\n\nThe venue's newly renovated bridal suite is cute and elegant at the same time. It has beautiful baby blue peacock wallpaper and a grand gold mirror. They actually have real peacocks living on the property, so the wallpaper in the bridal suite really fits the theme of the venue. This place is awesome. You can have both the wedding ceremony and reception at the same location, which is very convenient and stress-free. The Etre team makes wedding plan a dream. I kept thinking to myself, \"why am I not stressed yet..shouldn't I be stressed?\" month over month ahead of our wedding day - but it's because they think of quite literally everything. Working with their team requires very little from the bridegroom to make your dreams and vision come true. This was especially important to use as we live in a different state and are on the go for work nearly every week. Of course you still need to offer input and share your general vision but they help walk you through details you may be unfamiliar with - we had a handful of meetings over the course of the year and everything we discussed was made a reality. When the wedding finally came, we couldn't have asked for a better day. From the hospitality throughout the getting ready period with our personal concierge and food/drinks provided, to the beautiful space they created with in-house florals (Nicole is amazing!), the best wedding food I've ever had (by far), the beautiful details and signage (shout out Elliana @ Brush Letter Boards) and Etre's amazing in-house DJ - our wedding guests were and still are raving. So many different spots on the property to get married on, all beautiful. Different locations cost different price. Overall, relatively cheap compared to other venues. When talking to them, I first started with one wedding coordinator. She left and was informed about the new coordinator. She introduced herself and thought she was awesome. She was very tentative to all the details and was very helpful. I wasn’t informed that she had left and a new coordinator had taken her spot. I didn’t know there was a new coordinator until the day before the wedding. She didn’t take charge of anything. She took a back seat to everything. Told her I had a specific song I wanted to play for walking down the aisle. There wasn’t any sort practice with the song at the rehearsal. She couldn’t figure out how to connect my phone to the sound system.
