Mrs. Arlene is the sweetest and most welcoming vendor I ever spoke with. She ensured that all the details for how we wanted the day to go was discussed. She offered different vendors that we could work with. She worked with my tight budget for my small wedding and made our day more special that I could’ve dreamed of. She was consistent with checking in with me which was greatly appreciated since I was planning my own wedding and was super busy with work and everything else. She was there the day of the wedding helping out in all the ways she could, she even fixed me and my husband’s plates so we can sit down and relax. Her team of photographers are the absolute best and were so sweet. Over all the whole experience was amazing and I can’t recommend her enough. She honestly feels like family and on top of everything the venue is beautiful! It’s an 1800 century that they’ve renovated, but kept all of its charm. If you’re looking for a small venue for a baby shower, wedding, birthday party. This is perfect! I am definitely going back for future events.

We got married at The Chapel on Sycamore in April and it was everything that we had hoped for! The chapel itself is gorgeous with the dark wood interior and stained glass, and the outdoor space in the spring was perfect for everything from photos to cocktail hour gathering. We had 200 guests and the space was accommodating. Lisa was with us to coordinate our day from the very start and was incredibly prepared, responsive, timely, and helpful in answering my many questions throughout the planning process. She met me at the Chapel to visit multiple times to look at the space as I was planning the event. We used Oakhurst Market, a preferred caterer, for our food and got many compliments (and loved the food ourselves!). We loved the location in Decatur near restaurants and bars for our guests and the ease of travel and proximity to the city and it was easy to book parking for our guests nearby with Lisa's assistance. I would highly recommend The Chapel on Sycamore as an excellent wedding/event venue with lovely and helpful staff. The pictures included are by OliviaRosePhotography.

Ambient+Studio

4.0

Atlanta, GA
  • Up to 299 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor
  • Starts at $4,500

1910. That’s when this studio was built. That’s more than 100 years ago. Before the Titanic. Before World War I. Of course, when they built it they didn’t know it was a studio. They thought they’d built a factory for transforming raw cotton into fire-retardant fabrics. And they did just that for about 84 years. Next came a few years of hand-wringing and a few more of neglect and abandonment. In 2007, they finally turned it over to Jason Ivany. He set it back on track and transformed it into the daylight studio it was always meant to be just before the 100 year mark.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Offers full-service amenities
  • Raw space for complete customization
  • Private area for the wedding party

Venue considerations

  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • No in-house catering options
  • Dance floor not included
Overall, I love AmbientStudio and our experience was smooth and Stage 1 is just beautiful. I'd give a solid 4.5 for the overall experience. The team handled our room flip (ceremony to reception) flawlessly and from my experience the team was all easy to communicate with and handled everything well on the day-of. They were helpful and reasonable with accommodating our needs. One definite area for improvement in our experience would be that we smelled weed both during our rehearsal and our reception. When it's not coming from our guests, that's odd and should not be happening. I never personally laid eyes on the person responsible for that smell, though some of my group did.

We absolutely LOVED our wedding experience with the Trolley Barn. It had been recommended to us by friends and we toured it in January 2024. It was on a rainy day, but we still fell in love with the venue. We booked shortly after for our March 2025 wedding. Julie was a great help nailing down details and helping recommend other vendors. We had our rehearsal the day before the wedding and were able to drop off all our alcohol, decor, and cakes ahead of our wedding. The actual wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. The outside garden and front area made a great setting to take pictures before the ceremony. We then held our ceremony and cocktail hour in the courtyard. Everything was starting to bloom for spring and looked wonderful. Then, we moved inside for the reception. The space perfectly accommodated our 150 guests - we had a head table surrounded by round tables and had a couple high boy tables and a photo booth upstairs. We then picked up any remaining decor and alcohol the next day. Julie was such a pleasure to work with through the whole experience. We love The Trolley Barn! It’s a must-book venue for anyone wanting to have a wedding in Atlanta.

The space has a high-end feel with its large windows and cozy ambiance, yet it felt intimate and reasonably priced for all that it offered. My favorite part was being able to stock and decorate their mobile bar cart with our favorite cocktails and flowers. Ben was wonderful in coordinating the details to ensure our vendors and guests had all the information they needed. Our party was hosted at night, and the outdoor atrium has string lights that illuminate the entire studio. It was so cool and enchanting. The entire Terminus team was a pleasure to work with. We worked the most with Heidi and Brayette, but everyone involved in the days leading up to as well as the wedding day were extremely professional, kind and pleasurable to work with. In addition to having our wedding here, we also booked for our rehearsal brunch as well as the rehearsal. The food was phenomenal, the bar manager Ty was extremely knowledgeable and the space was outstanding. Our guests loved the speakeasy feel of the basement used for cocktail hour and the groomsmen loved having that space as their suite to get ready in. We used the rooftop for our rehearsal brunch which was perfect for the relaxed yet elegant setting we wanted. Our wedding pictures that we took up there were phenomenal especially with the ATL city as our backdrop. Heidi was so warm, welcoming and accommodating. Brayette was so sweet and worked hard to help us create a design of the space for both our ceremony and reception. We couldn't be happier, our wedding was perfect.

Day of, they shifted all the florals from the ceremony during cocktail hour and made the place look even more stunning for the reception. The food options and bar were some of the best we’ve had at a wedding, ever! They ensured we had food for my husband and I in the suite and plates prepared while we greeted our guests. We had our wedding at the Wimbish House in April of 2024 and it was the most spectacular day of our lives! The venue itself is so lovely and well located in the city (near plenty of activity of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment for guests within walking distance) and does not require a lot of work to make it beautiful (the ballroom and parlors are exquisite). Karin was our wedding coordinator and she made the entire process easy and stress-free. She helped us with everything and made sure nothing slipped by during the planning. The staff is all incredible and they have such great connections with other vendors (every vendor we hired said they already had such great memories of events they worked at Wimbish and I can see why!). You cannot go wrong booking this venue!

I got married at 42West in September 2024 and I'm convinced it's the best wedding venue in Atlanta. Lauren is incredible and went above & beyond to help us execute a beautiful cocktail hour, ceremony, and reception (plus an amazing afterparty). We booked the venue a year in advance, and every time we came back to visit in the meantime, Lauren had made a new upgrade to the space - she expanded the bridal suite, acquired the Annex and Gallery, and expanded her furniture & decor inventory. She really took the time to understand our vision for the evening, and we valued her input & advice throughout the planning process. Other than a last name sign, we had ZERO decor budget - Lauren recreated my Pinterest board vision entirely from her own inventory. 42West's flexibility allowed us to plan an extremely personalized evening with minimal logistical stress, and their team expertly managed setup & vendor coordination. If you're comparing against other venues, 42West's biggest differentiators are: 1) No nickel-and-diming. We paid a flat price for unlimited event time and there are no surprise operational fees or taxes added on top. 2) Decor assistance. We had a low decor budget and did not prioritize aesthetics, but the wedding was still gorgeous thanks to 42West's variety of beautiful spaces and extensive furniture & decor inventory. 3) Flexibility. Lauren was very accommodating, and all venue rules are reasonable and did not feel restrictive in the slightest. We LOVED hosting our afterparty in the 42West Annex - it was one of the biggest highlights of the day - but this wouldn't have been possible at most ITP venues due to a combination of space constraints, end-time rules, or noise restrictions.
