A large grassy field with incredible views was the perfect spot to host a wedding. A tent, catering tent and restroom trailer were delivered for the reception. Ceremony and cocktail hour took place at the waters edge just down the hill from the tent. Truly a beautiful location to host a quintessential Maine wedding. Lodging is nearby and a short 10 minute drive to downtown. \nAs the planner of an event, the space was easy to work within. The communication with Carole, Chuck, and Bethany was prompt and they were very informative throughout the planning process. The elegant ballroom aesthetic was exactly what we were looking for, and the fact that we only had to work with Meadowbrook, rather than coordinating with a billion different vendors, really helped take the stress off of planning our special day! The food was spectacular, the tent was beautiful, and the lake views were amazing. But the real stars of the show were the hospitality and service from Kim and other staff members at the Loon Lodge. They went above and beyond the entire weekend. Everyone at our wedding sung the praises of the staff including their hard work, friendly demeanors, and their creativity to fix things when unexpected things happened. For example, when the florist’s arbor fell over and broke, the florist attempted to hold it together using ribbons and flowers that looked awful. Kim immediately fixed it using fishing line and it ended up looking beautiful as the fishing line wasn’t even noticeable and especially won’t be seen in pictures. Kim also tried extremely hard to have the ceremony outside despite forecasts of rain. Having the ceremony outside was the one thing I really wanted to happen that weekend. Kim was constantly checking the forecast that day and saw that there would be a window of opportunity without rain and at the last minute made an outside ceremony happen. Additionally, I didn’t realize that we never assigned someone to be in charge of the cake-cutting. Kim saw it was not being cut and went out of her way to cut everyone a slice of cake. There were many moments like this and I’m sure way more that happened behind the scenes that we weren’t privy to. The bartenders and other staff members, especially the chef, also did a fantastic job. Choosing the Loon Lodge Inn for our venue was the best decision I made regarding wedding planning. My now husband and I plan to return here for an anniversary trip one day. As soon as my then fiance and I visited we fell in love with it. The property is large with plenty of room for people to spread out and have fun. So many of our guests came up to us to say how beautiful the venue is and we couldn't agree more. Gloria the barn has so much character that we kept our decorations simple because for us, the barn was perfect as it was.\n\nWhile we kept the decorations simple, the pay it forward attic was a huge help in the planning process. It was so nice to be able to use some of the decorations that were left over from past weddings so we weren't stuck with having to buy decorations that we'll never use again.\n\nThe staff couldn't have been more helpful right from the initial start of the planning until the end of the night on our wedding day. They're very experienced and were excellent at helping us figure out exactly what we wanted for our special day. Having them there the day of the wedding was invaluable, they were such a big help with everything from setting up to reminding us about things on our itinerary that we were starting to forget about. All in all we were lucky to find Fairytale and have our wedding there. I honestly wouldn't be able to find a single negative thing to say even if I tried. My family and I would visit the Pemaquid Lighthouse every year growing up, and every year I would point out the car window and say “That’s where I want to have a wedding reception after getting married at the lighthouse!” Little did I know, I would eventually have that exact dream come true.\nMy now husband and I celebrated our wedding reception at the 1812 Farm in September. From day one, the communication between us and the owners and event coordinator Olivia was punctual and incredibly helpful. From the thorough initial tour, to the food tasting where we were made to feel like royalty, to Olivia’s continual help with planning and the ultimate picture perfect wedding day, we were beyond pleased.\nWedding planning would have been far more stressful without the calls with Olivia, a detailed shared Google document, and the fun 3D modeling software for the venue table setup. The catering was excellent- the food was delicious with perfectly tender meat and paired seasonings/sauces. The servers and bartenders were professional and friendly.\nThe first thing that struck me on the wedding day was how gorgeous the grounds were, with a multitude of flowers and perfectly manicured lawns even towards the end of the summer! I also cannot say enough good things about their bridal suite. From the beautiful property, to the attentive and friendly staff, Newagen made our entire wedding weekend smooth and seamless. Newagen offers all the charm of a small quaint Maine Inn with the delivery and professionalism of a large well run venue. Maura was amazing and responsive with the booking of the venue and sales process. She was so responsive in answering all my questions and helping us navigate putting the weekend structure together. The reins were smoothly handed over to Tiffany as the weekend got closer and she ensured everything ran smoothly through the weekend. We held a lobster bake Friday evening, ceremony and reception Saturday and a farewell breakfast Sunday morning. Every single aspect was flawless. Tiffany and her team kept things running on time, making sure everything I brought (decorations and the like) was put out so that my husband and I could just spend time with friends and family. It felt that every time I had a concern or a question, I could ask Tiffany and she'd have already thought of it/handled it. I truly cannot say enough about how amazing the staff was. From the front desk staff, managers, coordinators to the waiters, everyone made us and our guests feel at home, taken care of and special. My husband and I will definitely be returning to celebrate anniversaries and will recommend this venue to anyone. The property has so much to offer guests (pool, pickle ball, sunset path) and is not far from the cute downtown harbor and local sites like the coastal Maine botanical gardens. The chef was fantastic and the food was delicious.
