We had Karla do our wedding pictures this past November and she was incredible! Loved her patience and how she guided us throughout the shots. I don't usually feel that great with my picture taken but she made me feel so comfortable and handled every detail so perfectly! Not to mention that the pictures turned out AMAZING! The vibe I wanted was matched perfectly. I cannot thank her enough. We look forward to booking her again for future family pictures. I have been a photographer for 8 years. Throughout my time as a photographer I’ve captured clothing, models, and memories. I shifted from corporate shootings to families and weddings because it gave me this warm fuzzy feeling when I edited my couples and families photos. Don’t be afraid to reach out to me and ask about my photography style, my editing style, or my favorite restaurant! I highly recommend scheduling a free consulting session!

It was such a pleasure to have Grace as our photographer throughout this wedding journey. We had her shoot our engagement photos (which we loved!) in addition to our wedding. She was very communicative. From the very beginning, she was clear on pricing. She would always work with my schedule when setting up meetings to go over timelines. She even went over every photo with me after the engagement shoot to make sure that we’re all exactly what I was envisioning. On our wedding day she literally went above and beyond for us as well. She brought an assistant with her, as well as some great props and florals to be used in the photos. She did an amazing job sticking with my detailed timeline, getting photos at every location I wanted on property, and did a great job corralling our families during cocktail hour and giving firm and efficient directions so we could get the pictures quickly and they could get back to the fun. She is very knowledgeable about lighting and posing. Thank you so much Grace!

Alyssa Marie Photography

4.9

  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves Grand Isle, LA

For as long as I can remember I have always loved to create. My passion for photography started when I was a teen. As I honed in on my craft I began to photograph on a more professional level right out of high school, but stepped away for academic pursuits. After completing both a bachelors and master's degree in Anthropology, I came full circle, determining that a career in doing something creative was where my heart lies. Whether it is your wedding, or any other special moment in your life, I cherish the opportunity to document it in a way that highlights the artistic elements, while still capturing an authenticness that is uniquely you.

Awarded Best of Zola
Alyssa was very communicative in advance of our wedding day and was receptive of any requests we had, travel to our venue and was quick to provide our photos to us following the wedding day. Alyssa is based in Tennessee but met us in Michigan for our wedding day. She is extremely kind and provides exceptional quality photos at a competitive price. We cannot reccomend her enough!

Hey there! We are David & Kirstin Hebert, a husband and wife team who are living our dream. Being behind the camera gives us a feeling that no other career can. We have been sharing life for 20 years and now share the fun with two amazing kidos, Evan and Adriana. What more could we ask for? Life is good! We love life. We love family. We love friendships. We love adventure. We love people. We love animals. We love travel. We love cameras. We love food. We love nature. We love smiles. We love LOVE! And we love capturing all of it! We are super laid-back and will make sure that your experience in these special days is our number one priority!

Awarded Best of Zola
We absolutely loved working with DK Hebert! We first met them when taking our engagement photos. They met us for a couple of drinks first to get to know us and learn what our expectations were and then we started the shoot. Kirstin was great at directing at us and making us feel at ease in front of the camera and David had a lot of creative ideas so that our shoot didn’t come out looking too cookie cutter or posed. We were looking for photographers in Louisiana who knew how to take photos of brown skin and edit it as well without making us look too orange or making our skin appear lighter. We were amazed with the photos that came back. It looked like a work of art. We shot for almost four hours with an outfit change and David and Kirstin basically took photos the entire time as we walked around downtown Baton Rouge and the state Capitol grounds— so we had a ton to choose from. Seeing our engagement photos really helped us trust them and be excited for our wedding photos. They turned out better than we could imagine. We no longer live in Louisiana but want to use their services again in the future and will travel to do so! I recommend them to any newly engaged couple or family who wants to update their photo albums. We also got a few sneak peeks back within a couple of days after our wedding and the entire album was sent to us about a month or so after. Kirstin would also send me her favorites as they were editing. The constant communication was wonderful. 10/10 recommend!

Shagari Gerard Photography

5.0

  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $4,500
  • Serves Grand Isle, LA

I am a lifelong artist. I got into photography when I picked up a camera to do a portfolio. One friend after another asked me to take pics for them after I did an artist album cover. Then one day a friend asked me to document a wedding. My first was rough but it has been weddings ever since. I love capturing love with my perspective. I have a laid back approach and help my couples feel at ease along with their families

Shagari was a dream to work with. He made sure we were having fun and captured the full essence of our day. Communication was excellent before, during and after our wedding. We get compliments on our photos all the time. Would have another event so we could book him again!

Applehead Photography & Design

5.0

  • Fine art style
  • Serves Grand Isle, LA for additional fees

We are Applehead Photography and Design, and our combination of directing and documenting provides our clients with photos of raw emotions and interactions, and allows us to truly get to know each and every person we photograph. It's pretty awkward to have your photo taken by a couple of strangers, but our hope is that by the end of the day, you feel like you had your photos taken by a pair of old friends. To us, it's not just about the end product you receive – it's about the adventure and the memories we created in order to do so.

Awarded Best of Zola
Hiring Applehead Photography was simply the best decision I could have made for my wedding. Looking back on my day, I am so incredibly grateful I invested into my photos specifically. You can have the best venue, the best food, the best whatever. But without the best photographers, none of that will be captured. And the best photographers can make anything average, look anything BUT average in the best way. Not only are the photos better than I could have ever imagined, but Heather and Philip were such a calming and fun presence on one of the biggest days of my life. My husband was not really the most excited for photos, but he ended up having such a good time without it being overwhelming and excruciatingly long. He felt comfortable in Applehead’s hands too which made me relax as well. I could go on and on about how perfect they were, but long story short, choose Applehead. Best wedding decision ever.

The best photographers in NOLA! We were so pleased to work with Linka and Eyoel. They were professional and easy to work with. We felt that they were really able to capture the feel and emotions we wanted in our wedding photos. They really hustled to make sure we got all the shots we wanted. We added some real film shots and they were so worth it! The colors and feel are so different and beautiful.

TLDR: I could not have picked a better photographer and I truly believe that Annie would be perfect for absolutely anyone. Her energy is infectious in a way that really brings up your excitement levels but also keeps your anxiety down. My husband is very introverted and was really worried about photos, but she kept him comfortable and in his element in a way I truly don’t believe anyone else would have. As for myself, I felt beautiful and gorgeous the entire time because of her and her partner. For the work she did and the amount of effort she puts into our photos, I believe her prices are incredibly fair. If anything, she’s undercutting herself. I will absolutely be recommending Annie to anyone and everyone. Now for the longer part of the review! We got married on May 30th, 2024 and we were doing our wedding a little differently. Instead of doing private vows or doing our vows at the ceremony, we did our vows at our rehearsal dinner. That is also when we allowed friends and family to come up and say something. The reason we did this route is because my husband is introverted and not a public speaker while I am the complete opposite. He also really wanted to see my walk down the aisle as our first look instead of a private look. Me, on the other hand, wanted at least our family and close friends to witness our vows. So we compromised! On top of it being two separate days, I was very adamant that I wanted two photographers along with wanting to capture the little things, such as my grandparents holding hands or our friends doing silly things at a table. I don’t mind staged photos, but I really wanted more natural focused shots. It was surprisingly difficult to find someone who was able to both days and within our price range. When we stumbled upon Annie, it felt like fate. She was so easy to figure things out with. Instead of an engagement photo session, she was happy to do our rehearsal dinner instead. She was there for any questions I had and the forms she had us fill out were super detailed! It really helped getting our thoughts together and deciding what was most important for our wedding. The day before the wedding, she vibed so well with everyone at the rehearsal dinner. She even got perfect photos of our dogs, who are honestly like our children. The day of the wedding, Annie and her second photographer (who I’ve completely blanked on the name, my fault for taking so long to write a review!) were amazing. Every single one of our friends had compliments for them and just LOVED their energy. Annie kept me calm and collected while the second was fully invested in my husband. I don’t think the wedding would have gone as smoothly without those two. The photos I received back? Better than I could ever dream of. Truly. They got beautiful shots of my grandparents dancing, my dad talking to one of his nephews, his mom talking with his brother. Just candid shots that looked real and natural. I am unbelievably so happy with Annie and the work she put in for us. Photographs are one of the most important things for me at our wedding and she truly blew it out of the park.We thank her for all her work from the bottom of our hearts and will always cherish the memories she gave us.
