The Mint Barrel Barn is a stunning, gambrel-style barn that was built in 1910. The barn’s earliest years are a mystery, but in later years it was used as a mint still. Huge quantities of local peppermint crops were distilled into mint oil, stored in large barrels, and sold across the nation to manufacturers of gum, mouthwash, toothpaste, and candy. Companies like Wrigley’s, Crest, Colgate, and LifeSavers paid top dollar for mint oil for their products. Since 2006, the Fulfer family has owned the barn, lovingly maintained it, and opened it up to friends and family as a warm and memorable gathering space for countless events. Owner, Kapri Maupin (Fulfer), wanted more people to be able to experience the history and make memories in the one-of-a-kind barn, so in 2018 she started upgrading and beautifully restoring the property. The barn now retains its historic beauty and is upgraded with all the amenities needed for a 21st century event.

We are located just outside Boise in Emmett, Idaho. As the venue sits on our home and property, we look to bring the feeling of comfort, joy, and connection that can only be found in home and nature. We offer a charming and intimate environment set in rustic, natural landscapes with thoughtfully maintained gardens. We host weddings of up to 225 people, and can provide seating and tables for that many guests. We are a historic banquet hall and gothic church on the National Historic Register. Weekday weddings without food are $100 or $250 with use of the banquet hall. Weekend weddings are $500 for the full day or $1000 for four full days. We can provide seating, tables, and dishes for up to 75 people.

The house was designed by architect James King and built in 1889. In 1899, architect John Tourtelotte designed a remodel of the house, transforming it into a grand Queen Anne style. Typical of the Victorian era, the home features the original hardwood floors and restored original woodwork. Antique furniture and elegant light fixtures create a graceful atmosphere, which is complimented with period wallpaper and window coverings.

Honalee Farm is located between Eagle and Star and dates back to 1922 where the Otto Muller Family had a dairy farm. The original dairy barn was built in 1927, was restored and is now used as living quarters. The silo built in 1939 is one of the most prominent landmarks on Moon Valley Road.
