Flowers arrived right on time. I contacted Flower Moxie right away with a question on timing for unboxing. Alexa immediately responded and became our personal flower consultant for the next 4 days. She was professional and encouraging and FUN! I felt much more confident that we could create beautiful bouquets with her assistance. The educational videos on the website are so helpful and informative. I alerted her that just three of my stems arrived broken. Flower Moxie immediately posted a refund to my account so that I could replace those stems if I felt it necessary at a local store. I cannot say enough good things about the whole experience. “First of all - the end product was just beautiful. Everything from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony flowers to the table styling was exquisite and super unique. Shannon did a great job incorporating my favorite color (yellow) and a whimsical, organic wildness into the design exactly as I had hoped. From our first meeting to the written proposal, Shannon interpreted my thoughts and ideas exactly. I was so impressed that she took my ramblings and half ideas and pulled them together into what I was seeing in my head. Shannon’s GORGEOUS color palette informed the entire wedding design and gave me a jumping off point for invitations, bridesmaid dresses, other decor, etc. Unfortunately, the process of working with Shannon was a bit challenging. She struggled with nailing down details: incorrect number of tables, inconsistent accounting of candles/bud vases, etc. It took a number of incorrect proposal drafts until we got it right - just weeks before the wedding. We were honestly quite disappointed by Shannon’s flexibility and communication. She self-describes as being highly collaborative, but that was not our experience. First, as beer nerds, having hops in the design was super important to us, and while she flagged early on it could be an issue to source real ones, we discussed using fake. While we all agreed that she shouldn’t use fake hops if they looked bad, we were sad to see on the day of that they didn’t make it into the design. It would have been nice to have heard a heads up from her that she didn’t plan to use them - even if it was just a brief mention on the day-of. Second, when our cake plans fell through at the last minute, we asked Shannon if she could possibly supply a few flowers for our small 6” cutting cake. She told us she would try, but later we heard from the bakery that she had given them a flat no. She never communicated her decision to us. Thankfully, the bakery pulled something together for us (shout out to Zest Pastry!). Third, the Monday before the wedding, Shannon sent an alarming email with the subject line “Head Advisory, Oh No!”, asking us what our plan was. Getting any email titled “Oh No” isn’t fun to receive less than a week before your wedding. Further, as a trusted wedding vendor, we would hope that she would have plans for weather or unexpected events rather than looking to us during a very stressful period. Lastly, (and most disappointingly) despite having a run of day schedule, Shannon was nowhere to be found when it was time to put on boutonnieres and corsages. Our photographers and party thankfully jumped in to help to avoid major delays to portraits (shout out to Katie Slater!). Fundamentally, the product Shannon provided was beyond compare - everything was beautiful. That said, the communication, coordination, and organization were lacking from our experience.”

My love of art and nature have led me to where i am today. I thrive when I can create and to be able to make a work of art with flowers, truly brings me a great joy. I want to bring your visions to reality through flowers on your special day or exciting events. Over my years of training in both traditional art and floral design I have developed my own personal style that is anything but traditional, but more so unique- just like all of us. Perla, which is French for pearl, was my Grandmothers name, is my middle name, and the name I give to my passion I hope to share with you.

Jaclyn’s love for her flowers shows in her work. From their locally sourced fresh flowers to their beautiful dried apothecary sets (I have 6!) are complimented by anyone who comes to my home. I had a small backyard wedding in August 2020, and came across Hometown on Instagram. Jaclyn understood my vision from the first convo we had. I wanted all tables to have different flower arrangements and at the end of the night, I saw my friends walking away with my arrangements to keep as their own! Even for my bouquet, Jaclyn put together something she thought I’d like and pointed out the flowers and why I’d love them. It was such an easy and enjoyable collaboration! We knew the floral aesthetic were going to be a key to bring component for bringing to life the centering our BIG Black Queer Love. Since it was a very intentional Black queer celebration honoring our love and commitment, the floral choices and expertise Andrew brought was the linchpin to success, from the very beginning with our first "Get-to-know-each-other" call throughout the process including a venue walk-through up right through the big day. He ensured each detail of our wedding arrangements conveyed our intention while centering our rustic elegant color palette -- a compliment to the autumnal mountain backdrop and made us feel so seen. The impeccable creativity Andrew brought to our more traditional accents -- the bridal bouquet and boutonniere, reception harlow stands -- were equally as elevated and aesthetically eye-dropping the energetic accents and more customized requests -- our flower-adorned chuppah, the ceremony wagon for the flower girl, and the floral chandelier. Andrew's energy is infectious and his preparation and seamless operation always gave us one less thing to worry about during the planning process. He uses an online system to track all exchanges and works with you to find inspirational images to ensure what you imagined is what will transpire on the day of. He also went out of his way to understand how his floral arrangement choices would adapt to any new details as planning unfolded, like ensuring the bridal bouquet perfectly replicated the vibrancy of peak fall foliage. I cannot stress enough that Andrew is the way to go!! He will ensure your special day has the visual energy for bringing to life all the love, connectedness, intimacy, excitement, and emotion of your wedding day!”
