“Shukhrat and his wife Rachel just shot our June 8th wedding and we couldn't be happier. They were amazing to work with and the photos are phenomenal! About the pictures: Shukhrat is versatile and very skilled. When we took our engagement photos he provided us with various styles of photos and editing, and then used our feedback to guide the photos he took at our wedding. He is also flexible. We got married in a city park and there were wayyyy more people in the park than we were expecting at 6:00pm at night. Without missing any of the candid details or true-to-life colors that we wanted, Shukhrat was able to frame the photos and/or alter the lighting so that the park goers were barely visible in the background. Both Shukhrat and Rachel are also very skilled at giving direction when needed, but letting you do your own thing the rest of the time. Neither my husband nor I have a lot of experience in front of a camera—they gave us enough direction to feel confident, without making us feel stifled or overly posed. We wanted photos that felt organic and genuine, and they were really able to capture that. Working with Shukhrat and Rachel: The two of them were a dream to work with. Incredibly professional--very communicative, punctual, quick turnaround time on photos. And they are also just lovely people. You spend so much time on your wedding day with your photographers, it's really important to feel comfortable with them, and we certainly did. They brought both a fun, but calming energy, easing our pre-wedding jitters before the ceremony, and leaning into the excitement as the night went on. Located at the Jersey Shore, where most photographers focus on sunny beach weddings, I was looking for something different. “There are not enough words I can say about Gabe--he has been an absolute dream to work with! Literally anything that could've been thrown at him, he went with it, and executed beautifully!!! My wedding date changed THREE times because of COVID, and he was always willing and flexible to find the perfect date for him and all of my vendors. My wedding was also outside in Miami, FL in early April. Normally, our weather is pretty good and beautiful evenings are almost guaranteed. Instead, we had a storm unlike any other storm I have seen in YEARS (outside of hurricane season). There were TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS in our outdoor/indoor wedding, and Gabe somehow managed to get the most incredible photos EVER. We really emphasized just how much we wanted the pictures to be honest and candid, and the gallery he sent us is literally the essence of that. He truly captured all of the craziness, last-minute changes, fun, and love from our day. Gabe was so friendly, so easy to get to know, and we wouldn't have wanted any one else to be our photographer. “Working with S&LM was pretty good. They communicated to me closer to the event, and asked me for everything they needed and more. The pictures I have seen so far look great, and the small video I have seen looked good as well. They made sure I got almost all of the specific photos I wanted, and had a take-charge attitude while photographing, and making sure everyone was in the right place and looking great! The DJs were pretty good, but didn't know all the specific songs we mentioned that we wanted played for certain dances/moments. They also didn't announce the first dance until they were hitting the play button, which threw our choreography off until we asked them to restart! Unfortunately, some people missed our dance because they didn't know that it was happening. It still worked out in the end, and all the right songs were played at the right moments. All in all, I would definitely recommend Lights & Sound Media to prospective couples.”
