I cannot recommend Thornton Distilling Company enough. Kim, the event coordinator, is incredibly responsive and a pleasure to work with. The space is unique and great for a small to mid-size wedding. Our pictures were fantastic and that's largely because the venue itself is such a cool space. We got a lot of compliments on the food and the chef is also a pleasure to work with. I would consider using them again in a heartbeat for future events.

223 Main

5.0

Lemont, IL

Welcome to 223 Main! Located in the Heart of Downtown Lemont’s historical district, just three doors down from the Metra Station, 223 Main boasts a storied origin. Initially built in the 1900s as a double storefront, it transformed throughout the century into a department store, political office, coffee shop, and now an event space. 223 Main is owned and operated by a local Lemont couple, Hector and Lauren Tamayo. Hector grew up in Lemont and always loved the downtown area. At the beginning of 2020, the coffee shop leasing the space decided to close down. While brainstorming what the building could be next, the Covid-19 Pandemic hit. Lauren and Hector decided to cancel their destination wedding and remodel 223 Main. After having their intimate wedding at the building, they decided to officially launch 223 Main and open the space up to the community to enjoy.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Combines timeless elegance with history

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you prefer a more modern aesthetic
  • No free parking
  • Not wheelchair accessible
The team at 223 Main was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We planed the wedding in a few weeks and it was super easy. Their communication was fast, friendly and easy - they were always available to answer our questions and walked us through every aspect of our special day. The venue itself was absolutely beautiful and the perfect size for our 30-person wedding. We had the ceremony and reception inside and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was set up perfectly ahead of time, including the decor, and the day-of staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The packages they offer for liquor and the option to bring in our own were also huge perks. We couldn't have asked for a better venue and highly recommend 223 Main to any couple planning an intimate wedding celebration.

Venue considerations

  • No on-premises lodging options

We had an amazing experience with the Sculpture Garden at Bridgeport Art Center. We started our process with Claire who was super accommodating with a last minute Friday evening tour to accommodate my work schedule, once we booked we worked with Eleanor who was also wonderful. Communication with both was timely and efficient and they were super patient with all my questions! The space itself was stunning, guests are still commenting on it a month later! For us it was awesome to have an “outdoor wedding” that didn’t need a rain plan due to the cover on the ceremony space. You felt like you were outside with more of the comforts of an inside space, and the pictures turned out amazing with the natural light, tall ceilings and chandeliers! The indoor space is just as lovely and the night flowed beautifully thanks to the venue team!

“Flawless from Planning to Reception!” From our first tour of Barrelhouse, we knew this was the place. The team was responsive, thorough, and genuinely excited to help bring our vision to life. Every detail, timeline, layout, and vendor coordination was handled with such care. The venue itself is absolutely stunning: a beautifully restored historic building with exposed brick and wood beams that wowed our guests.
