“We initially went with Sound Originals out of cost consideration and ease of booking because their combined photo/video package seemed so much more cost effective than many of the quotes we were getting from individual photographers and videographers. We assumed therefore that the quality might be a bit diminished by comparison, but were quite pleasantly surprised to discover that this was not the case! We are beyond pleased with the coverage they provided of our wedding and reception, and would certainly recommend Sound Originals to anyone seeking photo/video of their big day. Our team on the day of the wedding were absolute rock stars. Kate, Trung, and Travis all were incredibly friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond in ensuring we had excellent photos and video--both candids and plandids. We're so grateful to each of them for their excellent work! If you're considering booking Sound Originals, there is one practical consideration we might offer, however: Their business model seems streamlined to provide a standardized product and level of quality to many clients at once by contracting with local photographers and videographers--this is great for ensuring that clients know what to expect visually and that the company has backup photographers ready in case any members of the assigned team can't make it, but this also seems to come at the cost of personal touch when communicating with the company and the photo/video team. Our communications with them were always through a portal on their website and often felt rather impersonal. This was a trade off we were perfectly fine with, given the very affordable price we paid for our package and the piece of mind in knowing that even if our lead photographer got sick or something, someone else would be there to fill in. If you, however, require a high level of customization or personal touch and want to cultivate a close relationship with your photographer, then you may want to hire a photographer/team directly.”

“Gen is the most kind, uplifting person I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with for my wedding. As a bride I didn’t want to add another stress to my plate, and Gen handled everything with grace. I met her a couple of years ago. I worked with her husband and that’s how we were introduced. Now, he works by her side doing videography. They have such a good, balanced chemistry that makes them so great at what they do. We chose them because we were familiar with their work, they were willing to travel, and had a very reasonable total price with a payment installments option. I booked the largest package Gen had that included a boudoir shoot, rehearsal time, the ENTIRE wedding day, and travel all the way to North Carolina. As far as taking photos, I just wanted to be comfortable. My husband and I aren’t great in front of a camera and we don’t take pictures very often. Gen especially built my confidence a lot during the boudoir shoot. I had never done anything like that before. Communication was easy. We texted a lot, had a couple of in person meetings and went into good details about my family and what to avoid or what to focus on. She even worked on her own with my wedding coordinator to nail down the day-of details! The biggest thing that stood out to me was the way she handled my downpour of a wedding day - It rained almost the entire wedding day. Everything was outdoors. We had a rain tent for the ceremony chairs and the reception was a covered open air pavilion. She handled it with grace, came up with creative ways to take our photos (her rain jacket was a lifesaver I’m sure) and we managed to do the entire first look and wedding party photos quickly in between bands of rain. We even made it completely on-schedule. Our family portraits post-ceremony were also taken in the rain with umbrellas but we somehow managed! For the final photos I must say I absolutely loved the vibrant colors and how everything looked so real. Some photographers have styles that use a lot of filters and beige-like colors. Gen doesn’t do that at all. Her photos were all focused, clear, and she even paid attention to details while shooting and had me make adjustments to my poses (I told her I don’t like my ears showing so she would help fix my hair and stuff). Her editing skills are also very good. I know I made an amazing choice choosing Gen for our best day ever. I highly, HIGHLY recommend her if you’re looking for someone to stick it out with you and take your stress away. I love her and her family, they are just the best. Thank you Gen for being so awesome at what you do!”

Thanks for stopping by! My name is Berkley and I am a photographer based in South Florida.My journey to becoming a photographer has so much meaning to me. Several years ago my dad took me on a wine tasting trip to Napa Valley. I brought a camera he had given me for Christmas on the trip to California. As we were enjoying our time together, I took some photos of flowers at a winery. My dad complimented my photos from the trip and suggested that I should start a photography business. So I did! I began primarily capturing graduation portraits which led to photographing families, engagements and weddings.

“I first met Berkley when I was a bridesmaid in one of my best friends weddings back in 2021. Her energy and excitement for the day was absolutely unmatched and from that moment I knew when it was my big day, I would settle for no one other than Berkley. Two years later, I got engaged and the first thing I did was reach out to her to check her calendar for 2024. I knew I needed to have her as my photographer for my wedding. The morning of my wedding when she arrived, she brought this joyful energy and hyped us up the whole day. My husband and I were completely comfortable with her and our photos could not have turned out any better in my wildest dreams. She let us just go with the flow. “I’m not even sure where to begin with Melissa Blythe Photography! Ricardo and I hired Melissa as our micro wedding photographer for June of 2020, which then turned into October 2020. The year threw quite a few twists and turns at us from venue changes to date changes, yet Melissa stayed patiently by our side. For that we will forever be grateful. Melissa was always so kind through the entire process, she was quick to respond and made sure I felt at ease she would be there through the thick and thin. She is very organized and prompt. On the day of the wedding, she arrived early, she took time to scope out the area and prepare for our special day. She captured the most genuine moments of our micro wedding and during the ceremony, she was extremely respectful and not distracting.
