Our venue started as a music recording studio. We still have several studios that operate Monday through Friday. The event business was born out of people coming into the recording studios and asking if they could throw a party in our space and one thing led to another. We love hosting all different kinds of events from weddings, to parties, fundraisers, film shoots, and even the occasional small concert.

Once a 1980s smog-check center, SmogShoppe is now a 100% solar-powered, private 6,500 square foot indoor/outdoor haven for desert plants, vertical gardens and chic vintage furnishings. The combined interior and exterior areas allow for quintessential California entertaining, making an ideal vintage wedding venue. The generous floor plan can accommodate up to 150-person garden ceremonies, 150-person formal sit down dinners, and 250-person cocktail parties. SmogShoppe is conveniently located in the heart of the Culver City art/design district, immediately off the 10 freeway, just minutes to Santa Monica, LAX, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles.

We’re also a member of the Rustic Canyon Family, a collection of celebrated, neighborhood dining destinations throughout Santa Monica and Ojai. Nearly everything is made in-house, with an emphasis on zero-waste, and seasonal ingredients are sourced from local farmers, ranchers and fishers aligned with our values of planet-friendly practices. The 5,000 square-foot restaurant is housed within a former art museum, surrounded by galleries and creative workspaces. An alley breezeway, filled with a variety of lush plants and succulents, ushers guests from Michigan Avenue and serves as an expansive outdoor seating area that wraps towards the back of the restaurant. There are a variety of indoor and outdoor options to host gatherings large and small.

Unity of the Westside is conveniently located in the West Los Angeles community of Culver City, close to neighborhoods such as Santa Monica, South Bay, Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. The intimate, charming sanctuary holds up to 90 people, and glass doors open into a lovely outdoor patio. Our Community Hall includes a newly renovated full kitchen with plenty of buffet space on granite countertops. It all started when the founder of Bedhead Pajamas, Renee Claire Bertrand, and her husband, artist Lavi Daniel, discovered a historical art deco theater ( built-in 1948) near USC and decided to restore the gem back to its original glory which included reconstruction of the 23' bow truss ceiling! NES is a gorgeous raw space and blank canvas for your creative vision with warm natural diffused skylights (8), a private gated closed campus, and additional parking across the street (also used for valet).

Discover our hidden gem in the heart of West Hollywood! It's a contemporary/modern space with long sleek lines, vaulted ceilings, but with an overall warm aesthetic. The location is easily accessible and there is a parking lot adjacent to the temple for convenient for limited parking. There is a diversity of spaces inside, including the sanctuary, which can be used as any sort of hall/gathering/celebration space, but when set up, is an especially good for cross faith/areligious weddings and other milestone events, services, confirmation-type events and more. There is a small garden entry with a fountain, an ante room to the sanctuary, a library, offices, a roof deck, and kitchen.
