“I have no doubt of the talent that overflows from this studio, but mine and my (now husband!)'s hearts were set on Rob after we spent 3 hours hanging out with him, sheltering from the cold rain since we motorcycled there. His grace and warm demeanor belies how quickly and astutely he notices little details, almost like a supercomputer (or like a Rob...ot! hah). He is an expert at assessing lighting situations, but what's even more impressive is how he can massage the vibe of the room to herd people where he wants them to go. Also, his double-holster camera setup makes him look so freakin cool! I often feel like weddings are an elaborate play/dinner, meant to entertain and satiate the family members who attend. Considering the stress of being project manager and hostess, having Rob for our engagement shoot and on our wedding day was something we both looked forward to immensely. Things are fun with him! And he's so thoughtful, another relief from stressful planning and expectations. He went rooting through the shrubbery and got us pictures of adorable bumblebees, remembering that we were so smitten by them during our engagement shoot :) He didn't find any snails, though! Oh, well! I'm often critical of photographers' work because I am so critical of my own. But, without a doubt, I recognize the leagues of honed talent that Rob has, as well as his studio! The assistant, Lilly, is smart and such a sweetheart, and whoever does the editing -- Emily? -- is awesome. We started out a few months ahead of time with an engagement shoot (which I would HIGHLY recommend) where we got to know each other and Kristen’s style. as two people who are not used to being photographed, we were so thankful for Kristen’s expertise in posing and making us feel comfortable. We used the photos for our save the dates and wedding invitations :) In the months leading up to our wedding day, Kristen was always available and helpful in answering all our questions. She even scheduled 2 in depth phone calls where she helped us figure out the timeline of the day and made us feel so comfortable. When we decided we wanted videography as well at the last minute, she directed us to Elmtree weddings and facilitated that. Honestly, I don’t know what we would’ve done without Kristen. The wedding day went off without a hitch, and the photos are spectacular. I can’t overstate how important it is to have vendors that work cohesively with each other, and Kristen and her team not only worked well with the other vendors we hired, but actually seemed like FRIENDS. “My husband and I got married in June of this year. One of the hardest vendors for us to choose from in the beginning was a photographer. Once we met with Cheyenne, we knew she was the perfect fit for us. She was so personable and kind from the first meeting with us. She did an amazing engagement photo shoot with us back in September of last year and gave us option to choose where ever we wanted for the location and also helped give suggestions to a location as there are so many to choose from! Cheyenne was also tremendous in figuring out our wedding day timeline. This was something my husband and I were both stressed about just making sure we had everything right, but she just asked us simple questions and did everything from there! This was so beyond helpful! She also shared it with all of vendors after she put the timeline together too. Fast forward to our wedding day - she was nothing short of amazing!! She got there early to check out the venue first and then was right on it with photos of the guys and then the girls! Cheyenne captured amazing photos from every single part of our day. I attached just a few that she captured. She was amazing getting all of our family pictures done after the ceremony too! Cheyenne also bustled my dress for me before the reception with ease and so quickly! This was beyond helpful and so kind of her as it wasn’t something she had to do, but she was so happy to do it! She was with us for almost 12 hours on our wedding day and had a smile on her face the entire time. She is so genuine and amazing at what she does. We are so thankful that we did because she’s the absolute best! One more thing that Cheyenne does that I didn’t see a lot of vendors do that was so helpful - you can do a payment plan with her and pay every few months before your wedding (depending when you book). This was really helpful as weddings are expensive of course so having this option really helped us plan and prepare better! Make sure you book Cheyenne! You will NOT regret it, I promise!”

Sawicki Studios are husband & wife wedding photographers in the Albany NY, Upstate NY Capital Region area since 2007. Our photographic style can be described as modern and unique yet timeless and classic. We use our signature stylized flare sparingly to sprinkle in a little magic into our client's images while remaining authentic to them and their day- which is a mix of candid photojournalism (documentary style) with a good helping of fine art. Our goal is to simply be visual storytellers through our artistic vision with quality and expertise.
