“I highly recommend PDX DJs. The owner Sean is attentive and respectful. I had every question answered when I first signed on to work with PDX DJs. I also loved their transparent pricing - it's pretty rare that a company touts transparent pricing, and actually means it. Especially in the wedding industry, it was such a breath of fresh air to just have a vendor be straightforward, honest, and not try to upsell us or misrepresent pricing/fees etc. Steven was our DJ and he listened to everything we wanted & delivered. I had a very specific timeline including emcee cues & music for the pre ceremony & ceremony, and I was a little nervous that with only one meeting beforehand there was room for error. But these guys are professionals, asked questions about anything that was unclear in our meeting, and executed everything perfectly. We provided our must plays for the reception, and Steven texted me before hand asking if he could swap one of our picks with a remix version of the same song. I'd never heard of the remix but said go ahead! Now that song stands out to me as one of my favorite moments from the reception and is always tied to our wedding day. “We had a Latino and Indian fusion wedding and our guests were so happy with the music. We were initially worried about how we would fuse both of our cultures and how we would keep both sides of the family entertained and on the dance floor but Rafael and Richard did an amazing job! It started with a 1hr sync before the wedding where we explained to them the vibe and the small little details that we wanted to include. Bryan and Rafael were so knowledgeable and so open to our suggestions and needs. The day of they showed up on time and had everything ready and set up on time. When our timeline got pushed a little they were super accommodating and helped keep the guests entertained. My mom was raving about the song choices that Rafael included. He was able to mic up our officiant, guide the guests during our surprise scavenger hunt cocktail hour, he ran a super amusing Shoe Game (see pictures) and kept the formal dance with our parents short and sweet! “When planning our wedding, we knew we wanted the music to be epic! Music is so important to my now husband Ryan and me. We wanted a packed dance floor, but we also wanted to incorporate our Jewish culture and even play some of our psych-rock faves, plus the odd request from our parents. It was a tall request! Chad handled it like a champ and created a playlist that checked our boxes and got everyone on the dance floor! When working with Chad, it's apparent that he had an enormous knowledge of music and DJing, as well as the intricacies of events and hosting. He had so many great suggestions and understood what we wanted and more! He even incorporated our weird sense of humor into our playlist. For example, we mentioned in our wedding vows a joke about rickrolling, and he added Never Gonna Give You Up to our playlist! It was amazing! At the last minute, we found out that our venue would be less involved in the day of coordination than we had previously thought. We had recruited some cousins to help, but when we told Chad and his wife/superstar partner in crime, Gretchen, about it, Gretchen stepped up to the plate without missing a beat. She coordinated our processional and the entrance to our reception. It was amazing! Elizabeth Donovan is a cellist based out of Portland, OR. While her roots are in classical music, Elizabeth enjoys playing music from a variety of genres. She brings a passion for cello playing and love for music to every performance.

I have been DJing for friends, family, weddings, schools, and corporate events since 2010. In 2023, I finally launched my company, Williams Weddings and Events with a surge in demand for wedding services. I spent a few years working as a technical manager for a local theater company in Portland. My passion for excellence in audio came from this time running productions for the theater. I now DJ because I love it. It is my passion and an outlet for joy and creativity.
