Picture Aimee

5.0

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,100
  • Serves Port Clyde, ME

Based out of Portland, Maine and primarily working with 35mm and 120mm film, Aimee uses analogue cameras and a documentary approach to create images that feel candid and natural, playful and artistic. Her photography work is greatly influenced by art history, a love of cinema, spontaneity, and a belief in kismet. She steps into each wedding with the intention to capture genuine moments and honest connections.

Aimee was an absolute delight to work with. We had our wedding in September 2024 and we couldn’t have been more happy with our decision to work with her! She was very timely when it comes to email/ text responses, she has great communication, and she is very flexible. We had a slight relocation for our ceremony the morning of the wedding I texted her hours before and she was there on time ready to work. I couldn’t have been more happy with how the photos turned out and she had them done in the time frame she said she would. When we have another event that we need a photographer you can guarantee I will be reaching back out to Aimee. Would recommend a thousand times over3

Nostalgia drove me into photography at an early age - and lead me into my studies of photojournalism. We all innately know when we're at a critical juncture in our lives. For me, being able to authentically capture, to preserve those moments in a photograph is such a privilege. I know how much it means to me to be able to look back and say 'this is how things actually happened.' There is beauty in those truths. The kind of folks I work with share that appreciation.

Awarded Best of Zola
We used Corey for our wedding and engagement pictures. We worked with him for several months and he was always super responsive and clear with expectations, pricing, and giving us ideas. The whole process was made super easy. We knew what his vision was and how to help execute it to get the best results. Expectations for the events were also made clear and put into writing which was nice. Corey also met with us remotely and in person to discuss, always making himself available with our busy schedules. The day of the wedding he arrived ahead of schedule to set up and scope out the venue. All the pictures we wanted were taken, he also captured incredible photos throughout the day which told a story of the wedding. This included us getting ready, setting up the venue, ceremony, reception, and first dances. All the little moments that make the day special are now captured in photos. Looking back through the photos, we're able to recount what we were doing and we just couldn't stop smiling. The photos are all very high quality and we're provided to us just two weeks after our wedding. We expected Corey to deliver great photos based on his portfolio but we were still absolutely blown away. These photos will absolutely be cherished for years to come. If you're looking for a professional to help guide you through the process of having a photographer, who is affordable, easy going, and clear with his artistic vision this is your guy. Thank you so much for doing an extraordinary job documenting our day

Rebekah Wheeler Photography & Design was a dream to work with for our wedding day. Their communication style was refreshingly upfront, clear, and easy, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. The quality of their work is truly exceptional - the photos are natural, environmental, and crisp with perfect focus. Rebekah was incredibly accommodating to our requests, including taking charge to get all the group photos done efficiently, which was no easy task. She also went above and beyond by meticulously recreating a special photo to mimic my parents' wedding photo, which means the world to us. I've loved seeing the sneak peeks so far and can't wait to see the full album. Rebekah is a true professional who helped make our wedding day perfect.

I take an authentic and cinematic approach to wedding photography. I love to watch life unfold and seek to capture the quiet moments of the day; the moments that slip past in an instant but are the ones that you want to remember forever. I am passionate about creating timeless and lasting photographs for you and your family.

Peter is the best!!! We first met Peter while he was shooting a promotional video for Medomak Family Camp in Washington, Maine, and that video was gorgeous, so when we needed a photographer for our elopement in Acadia, Peter was the obvious choice. My husband and I had never taken professional pictures before, but Peter made us feel so comfortable and at ease through the whole process. He guided us through each location and pose suggestion like he had a great vision, and when we got the pictures back, we knew he definitely did! Our pictures were beautifully and skillfully edited and we will cherish them literally forever. Thank you, Peter!!!

Hi, I’m Jennifer. A wedding photographer with a love for capturing life’s raw, unfiltered moments. My style is dark, moody, vibrant and unapologetically non-traditional, perfect for couples who want their story told in a way that’s as unique as they are. I thrive in the moment, letting each scene unfold naturally, creating images that feel authentic and timeless. Forget stiff poses — I’ll guide you just enough to bring out your best while letting your true connection shine.

My name is Ali Cushing, a NY-based/working anywhere, visual storyteller who captures the authentic experience with intention. It's feeling, and it's found in the whirlwind and the still moments, in heightened emotion and calm, and above all, celebrating what makes you and your partner exactly who you are with the people you choose to surround yourself with. In my work composition serves to frame the feeling, with permission to be raw, outrageous, reserved, and unabashedly yourself. I make photos about the day and not the day about the photos. All couples of all genders, ethnicities, ages, faiths, shapes and abilities, are more than welcome.

Awarded Best of Zola
My husband and I LOVED working with Ali for our wedding at the Picnic House in Prospect Park! She was responsive to all of our questions and quick to answer calls and emails. On the day, she put everyone at ease and corralled everyone to get through the family portraits quickly. She totally captured our vision for the day and we're so happy with how our photos came out! We absolutely recommend working with Ali for your special day.

My husband is my second photographer, so we come as a photo team! Just like you, I have felt awkward in front of the camera. I’ve had photos taken of me that I didn’t like. When you go on a session with me, I will not only make you feel comfortable, but I will make sure you look good! I will give you prompts to keep you moving so you look and feel natural and comfortable. I’m sorry but there are some angles, and poses that are not flattering for everyone. Like, please don’t take a photo of me from below! Hello double chin! What I’m saying is, I Got You!

We even had sneak peek pictures before the nights festivities came to an end. Lacie and our videographer worked seamlessly together, we would recommend her over and over again, without hesitation.

My wife and I were so happy with Johnny. He communicated with us through out the whole process, had ideas for locations and types of photos for our wedding day, and was very laid back about our last minute change of venue. Hi! I’m Justin (he/him) and I’m here to affirm your love, make you feel like a fucking rockstar, and dance like a total fool. Oh, and take so many gorgeous photos of y’all. Obvs. My style blends both documentary photojournalism and fine art photography: coaching folks who are shy in front of the camera, then stepping back to capture authentic moments uninterrupted. I’ve been lucky enough to have my work published by A Practical Wedding, The New York Times, GLAMOUR, People Magazine and many other fabulous outlets. I'm a stereotypical Capricorn that loves drag shows, campy horror films, every dog I meet, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Awarded Best of Zola
Don’t think you’re photogenic? Worried that folks in your family, wedding party, etc. aren’t photogenic? Justin will MAKE them photogenic. The man is a wizard with the camera, able to capture moments and poses you never imagined possible. The photographer for our wedding was the one thing we knew we would need to splurge on to make sure we felt comfortable and happy on our wedding day. Justin spent so much time working with us on exactly what we wanted while at the same time, truly getting to know us and my god, does it show. Justin was able to capture the true essence of ourselves in our wedding photos, to the point where we started tearing up just looking at them. We cannot recommend this BEAUTIFUL human enough. I’m a storyteller. That’s what I’m here to do - document the story of one of your greatest celebrations. My work is heavily focused on the authentic, unplanned moments. My approach is observational and real, creating images that are genuine representations of you, those you love, and the space and moments you share. I create true-to-life images that will bring you back to some of your sweetest, most treasured moments for years to come. These images aren't just for you, after all - they're for the branches of your family tree that have yet to grow. For the generations to come.

Awarded Best of Zola
I knew we needed to book Kaitlin from the second I found her Zola profile, but it was completely solidified by our meet and greet meeting. Kaitlin is exactly as described. So personal, completely herself, open and transparent, I could go on and on. One of the biggest things that sold us with Kaitlin (besides her work) was the fact that she gave us advice on what to look for/questions to ask with other photography vendors while we were on our hunt. We had our engagement photos in October in Boothbay Harbor and we are actually located in Western Mass. I had ideas in my head about what would work and Kaitlin made the drive to check out the locations and ensure they actually would. One of my locations wasn't the best lighting wise and she gave multiple other options to get similar looks. We actually ended up doing some downtown photos which are some of my favorites (which is a little a lie because I am obsessed with all of them). I read in multiple of Kaitlin's reviews that she makes awkward people comfortable behind the camera and I am here to say it is true. I was so stressed going into things, worried my hair looked bad, we wouldn't get *the* shot, we would look weird, etc. Kaitlin immediately asked me what my worries were and I felt so at ease. Working with Kaitlin felt like working with with a lifelong friend who really has it all together and is such a professional. I truly know that our wedding day is going to be that much better knowing she is going to be there documenting it all.

Alli and Josh were recommended through a close friend who did her wedding and I seriously cannot thank her enough for recommending them. The moment I put an inquiry in, I immediately felt like I was Alli’s best friend when she reached out. Alli and Josh did our engagement photos as well and am seriously obsessed with them. I was so excited for our wedding day. On our wedding day, Alli made sure I was taken care of. She even helped me get into my dress because we were on a time crunch and that to me was a truly special moment I got to share with her. Hi, I’m Julie! I’ve been photographing weddings for about ten years now (holy cow, do I feel old!), starting with photographing friends' weddings and quickly falling in love with the work. While I adore capturing gorgeous portraits of the bride and groom and the quiet (and sometimes chaotic!), beautiful moments during a wedding/elopement/engagement session, those ridiculous candid moments (like when a stranger offers you a fry on the boardwalk during your bridesmaid photos) truly make your day uniquely yours. I'd absolutely describe my style as a mixture of classic, artistic and photojournalism, but my heart lies in capturing candid moments.

Awarded Best of Zola
We are BEYOND thrilled that we chose Julie to capture our wedding. My wife and I had a destination wedding in Kennebunkport, Maine so choosing vendors was really just based on doing our own research and combing through reviews. From start to finish, everything with Julie was incredible. She really understood what we wanted and that aligned perfectly with her vibrant and candid style. She was so efficient on the day of the wedding as well so we were able to enjoy what we put together. She truly has an amazing eye, book her!

I’ve been making pictures since I was 12. My parents gave me an ancient 35mm Konica Autoreflex camera, told me to get after it, and the rest, as they say, is history. My role as a photographer is to capture the rare, vulnerable, epic, extraordinary, and wonderfully ordinary moments of life, as well as the beautiful details in between. I strive to make images that come from the heart and will tell your story for years to come. Also, I might cry at your wedding. It happens.

My spouse and I were lucky enough to have Jo take photos of us for our September 20th elopement in Portland Maine. Prior to the big day, we spoke with Jo on the phone and knew she would be a great match for us. She was thoughtful, quick to respond, and answered all of our questions. She even touched base with us in the days leading up to our elopement. On the day itself, she came to our home for some pre-ceremony photos. Although she had had a stressful morning due to some car trouble, we never would have known. Our two dogs (one of whom is not always people friendly) quickly warmed to Jo and she got some great shots of them as well. We made our way over to city hall, where we got more photos, and she even signed as our witness. She gave us great direction on poses, which was definitely appreciated. After, we all shared in a meal together before my partner and I exchanged private boys, which Jo also caught some amazing photos of. We received our sneak peek very quickly, and our full gallery two months later (on our two month wedding anniversary, which was such a lovely surprise). We truly couldn't have imagined our day without Jo. The photos were incredible and truly captured exactly what we'd had in mind. We continue to feel very fortunate that she was available to work with us. We had a lot of fun with her and it felt like we got to spend the day with a close friend rather then someone we had just met earlier in the day. If you are looking for a Maine based photographer, you cannot go wrong with Jo!

Natural, documentary, photojournalistic. Real, raw, candid. We’re not going for any stiff prom poses here. I like to capture the day as it is and to document it as it unfolds. I never want to force anything, but I step in and direct where needed. Being in front of the camera isn’t my favorite thing either. I will be here to guide you and prompt you the whole way, I promise.

Jenna was an absolute dream to work with. From the moment I saw her portfolio I knew I wanted her to document our wedding. I could tell that Jenna knew exactly what to capture in a wedding - the feelings and beauty of the couple’s family, friends and their love. Then after meeting her she instantly felt like a friend - which I didn’t realize how important that would be later on. During the wedding day I think we spent the most time with Jenna, and it was so comforting to have a friend with us the whole time! I trusted her to capture the important moments, and even to give me advice and touch ups, and boy did she deliver! I feel like she read my mind about every little detail. Honestly I can’t say enough good things about Jenna as a person/vendor/photographer. I can’t stop looking at our photos even 6 months later! She just captured our joy and love and turned them into beautiful works of art. We get compliments on our photos by everyone we show them to! Jenna was the best decision we made for the wedding hands down!

I’m a New Hampshire wedding photographer, who specializes in candid, natural wedding photography, serving all of New England for over fifteen years. Almost all of my couples come to me saying that they feel weird in front of the camera and worried about how their photos will turn out. But of course they want those gorgeous, Pinterest-worthy shots! My laid-back attitude will help put you at ease, helping your true personalities shine through (with simple and fun guidance for the posed photos). And my quiet and calm nature makes it easy for me to blend into the background, to get tons of candid photos that you will make you laugh and cry.

Brett did an incredible job capturing our winter wedding! She was easy to work with, communicative, and friendly from the start. Our wedding photos came out incredible, and she did a great job of mixing posed photos with lots of candids, and even walked up a snowy ski slope with us to take ski lift pictures. We also requested film photos and she did this with no extra charge besides the film itself. She sent us a preview the day after the wedding, and our whole edited photo package arrived less than a few weeks later which was a happy surprise! We highly recommend working with Brett as your wedding photographer.

Angela was incredible to work with! She was the absolute sweetest and she was able to communicate so well. She was on time and she went above and beyond. She has a great eye and an even better personality. All the photos came out stunning. The only regret is not having her there longer. I would absolutely recommend her!

I was born and raised in the smallest little state, Rhode Island! With that comes a huge appreciation for the coast and a realization that magic can be found in even the smallest of details. Growing up in a small town where time seems to go by slower helped me learn the value of genuine connections which have now become apart of who I am.

After our first photographer fell through, we found Caz and luckily he happened to be available on our wedding date. From the very first contact, he was incredibly responsive (super important to us), friendly and professional. His work looked great so we were excited - then we found out he was featured in Vogue! We were stoked. He was amazing to work with on the wedding day - punctual, friendly, got all the requested shots, and the whole bridal party loved him. We got our pictures back today - and they’re so much better than we could have dreamed of. It’s no wonder he was featured in Vogue - his work is artistic, candid, and beautiful. Thank you Caz for giving us such beautiful memories so we can relive the best day of our lives.

Our first kiss was on the beach, under a star-filled sky, on my favorite island, only home to shells, bioluminescent creatures, and wild horses. Soon after, as two very young humans (21 and 23), we were married. As newlyweds we set off on an adventure, kayaking from Maine to Key West. On that trip, we realized how much we valued spending all our time together and being in charge of our schedule. This business is how we live out that dream.

We could not have imagined better photographers for our wedding day! We met them to get engagement pictures and we had so much fun- we were so worried about being awkward but they made us feel comfortable! And for the wedding day, they got the best shots and were so involved in the wedding without seeming like they were in the way. We got so many compliments on them day of and especially after seeing their work! Highly highly recommend them!!
