Jay checked in with us throughout the planning process (which for us was almost two years), offering advice and sending us outstanding vendor suggestions. We also had an in-depth planning call a few weeks before the wedding to go over the flow of the day and to decide on our music. Jay took the time to send us shortened versions of the songs and also offered commonly used song suggestions for the Mother-Son Dance and Father-Daughter Dance to help us determine our final song choices. With her earthy acoustics, dark melodies, and rich vocals, singer-songwriter Liat has been captivating live audiences for over fifteen years. After years of performing in the pulsing cities of Philadelphia and New York, Liat moved to Colorado, where she drew inspiration from the folk music of the mountains. Her music evokes her itinerant life and Israeli-American heritage— 90s’ pop-rock meets 60s’ folk with glints of Middle Eastern desert soundscapes. She spins guitar acoustics with her powerhouse vocals for lyrical “dark folk” sounds that linger long after a performance.

She received her bachelor’s degree in jazz performance at UNCo in 2015 and completed her master’s degree in harp performance at Lamont School of Music (DU) in 2020. While at Lamont, Ms. Hunt was a finalist in the University’s concerto competition. She has studied under legendary harpists Ann Marie Liss, Grace Browning and Kathy Bundock-Moore and she regularly performs for orchestras including the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

After years working at a luxury entertainment design company in NYC, I noticed a void in live music, one where planners saw music as the background to the main event rather than something that can guide and elevate it. The bands weren’t listening to the room. We should make deliberate music choices based on the people in it, reacting to them. Not the other way around. My desire to create this harmony sparked the founding of Honey+Vinyl in 2013. Ten years in the industry, she began to dive deeper into the science of sound; how lighting, décor, food and timing interact with music, which drove her to establish the Sonic Sommelier™ service.
