Hi, I'm Kim Overholt and I've had passion for baking (and sugar) from a young age. I started Love + Sugar in 2014 and have loved every second of it. I love amazing feeling that comes when someone exclaims after eating my dessert that it is the "best tasting cake (or cookie) ever!" I invite you to try out our desserts for yourself. My passion for baking began at a young age, fueled by a fascination with the artistry involved in making and designing cakes. I loved family gatherings where I listened to discussions about recipes and the best ingredients. In our family, food served as a unifying force, infused with love and passion. What began as a hobby, bloomed into a thriving business. Driven by my passion, I decided to pursue my culinary aspirations further and sought formal training, ultimately earning my professional qualifications. I have a strong passion for improving customers' experiences by crafting unforgettable cakes and edible creations!

Sugar and Bake relocated to the DFW area in 2019 and officially opened the bakery there in 2020 after the Covid epidemic restrictions allowed. The head baker and owner learned the craft of sugar arts from professional chefs, top sugar artists, and many courses from around the world. Whether making apple strudel in Austria, paté a choux pastry in France or gravity defying cake decorating in Canada and the US, Sugar and Bake has the experience to make a memorable dessert just for you.

Chef Amanda has been working in kitchens and restaurants since she was 15 years old. She has done everything from the Dalai Llama’s 80th birthday cake to celebrity private events to cooking classes in client’s homes, and even running restaurants! She has cooked in a variety of restaurants and is a Chef. She loves cooking and baking and enjoys using all the things she has learned along the way to put an amazing experience together for her clients to enjoy. Her passion is in the kitchen with a love for all things food!
