Drumore Mill is a different world. It is nestled in a corner of the most rustic township in Amish Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The mill was built in 1752 as a sawmill and a grist mill. It sits in a hollow with 30 acres of tall cliffs and old trees to provide privacy, warmth, and natural beauties. There is a pristine creek that meanders through the property. The Fishing Creek supports native trout and other rare small fishes. The waterfall is adjacent to the buildings. There is a hiking trail within the property. There is wetland and much more. The combination of rustic setting, natural beauties, and historical features makes Drumore Mill amazingly beautiful. One has to see it to believe it.

Drumore Mill was an absolutely stunning venue to use for our special day (really weekend). We loved the ease of booking the venue, touring with Thuy, and the promptness and flexibility they offer. An added bonus is the available on site lodging for rental, which we made great use of for our close friends, family, and wedding party to stay in the night before and night of the wedding. We enjoyed the Great Room in the Grist Mill for our rehearsal dinner. Our guests loved how spacious Drumore Mill was, and we appreciated all the attention to detail such as included (but still optional) decor and greenery, and the setup of chairs and other items for the ceremony space. Being able to bring in all of our own vendors at no additional cost was fantastic. The value for renting the property from Thursday to Saturday morning was unmatched and completely worth it. We would recommend Drumore Mill to anyone, and we look forward to booking the property in the future for non-wedding related stays with friends and family.

I can't put into words the experience of working with Annemarie and Jim. They were great communicators from start to finish. We went to the first open house last fall and decided to book for March 2024. It gave us 6 months of planning, and as stressful as it was, the easiest part was working with Annemarie to plan it all. The Capital Jewish Museum is a beautiful venue with flexible event spaces and thoughtfully curated exhibits. The space is modern and well-appointed with AV, lighting and equipment including tables, chairs and bars. All are high quality and brand new! Event spaces throughout the Museum make for lots of different party plans - a spacious, open first floor would work nicely for a ceremony or program with cocktails on the open-air roof terrace and second floor with time to flip the ceremony space for dinner. We picked Clyde’s because the location was close to my church, where we did the ceremony, and because it was one of the few venues in that radius that fit our budget. I picked Clyde’s for practical reasons and looking back I couldn’t have made a better choice. I always knew I wanted my wedding reception to be fun and relaxed and have plenty of good food and drinks for my guests. Clyde’s so fit the bill. First, the food is simple yet delicious. We already knew that from dining there, and the tasting confirmed it. We were able to make menu choices to please everyone. Second, our room was beautiful and uniquely decorated and that makes a fun atmosphere. It was large enough to fit all our guests and have room to dance (we had about 50 people, but could have fit more in the room.) finally, the service was exceptional - all our guests commented on how great the servers and bartenders were at their jobs. We felt so welcome. The event staff went above and beyond to work with me to decorate and set tables to my specifications. If you are considering Clyde’s, I highly recommend them. DC wedding venues are expensive and Clyde’s was one of the few places we could afford, but even if our budget was higher, I couldn’t imagine a better experience.

Boqueria Penn Quarter was an exceptional choice for our reception venue. From the first time we met with Hadley, their communication was professional, responsive, and well organized. On the day of our wedding reception, the staff was warm, attentive, and truly made us and our guests feel special. The food was absolutely delicious - our guests are still raving about it! The team even surprised us with an extra treat, adding a special churro dessert that was a huge hit. Throughout the event, the food and beverages were plentiful and kept flowing seamlessly. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we highly recommend Boqueria Penn Quarter for any couple looking for a wonderful reception venue.

Despite the spring weather sampler that occurred during our wedding weekend, we had a beautiful time that brought together all parts of our lives for a wholesome celebration of love. We are grateful the the efforts spent by the Good Neighbor team help us create this day. The shop and guesthouse are already beautifully curated; these were complemented by a thoughtful drink menu, a magical ceremony setup in the Design Garage, and a an abundant backyard dinner set-up. We blend together our cultures in this marriage, so we appreciated the ability to use our own food, desert, and floral vendors tailored to our tastes. You can customize the space to meet your needs! We recommend Good Neighbor for anyone but especially LGBTQ folks!

Above ALX Community was the PERFECT wedding venue! The indoor/outdoor rooftop space offered breathtaking 360 views of the Potomac and Old Town Alexandria, creating a beautiful and unique setting. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the amazing atmosphere and scenic backdrop. Christopher, our venue coordinator, was exceptional. He went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, from setup to last-minute adjustments, and made us feel completely at ease. His attention to detail and dedication truly made our day stress-free and memorable. A beautiful boutique hotel. We chose the Morrison House for our 75-person wedding in May and it proved to be a beautiful setting with a perfect mix of modern, classic, and vintage style, exactly what we hoped for this event. The bridal suite was smaller than others and not specifically setup for weddings (other venues had large mirrors and hardware hung high on the walls for dresses etc). 3-4 people sat on the couch while two makeup artists setup in the sitting room and the hair stylist in the bedroom. One issue related to the room- they booked a high-ranking Marriott member in the bridal suite with a 4PM checkout, despite us having booked the hotel and that room Friday-Sunday. We arrived at 12 on Friday as discussed couldn’t access the suite until after rehearsal. I used a separate guest room to hold all of our bridal suite belongings and get ready. We didn’t move into the bridal suite until the evening. Ceremony: Plenty of room for our guests to be seated on the outside brick driveway. The front stairs made a beautiful and easy location for photos. The DJ was able to access power for mics and music without issue. Cocktail hour/bar: The hotel allocated 1 bartender for the event, which we felt would be insufficient to provide drinks to 75 people after the ceremony. A second bartender was added for a small fee. We also requested our signature cocktail be prepared and ready for guests after the ceremony to ease the rush to the bar. We could not use the room beyond the bar (restaurant area) bc it was where they kept all the additional furniture and vendor equipment. The space fit our needs and activities (photobooth, guest book, and “sip and solve” crossword). Reception: the ballroom is on the smaller side but fit 75 ppl comfortably. We had a 12x12 dance floor and two tables had to be placed on it for dinner then removed prior to our first dance/dancefloor opening. We designed our schedule to accommodate the space/table removals and it worked out well! We had a sweetheart table in the front with plenty of room for the dancefloor and table setups. All in all we were able to get a dessert table, 4’ DJ table, sweetheart table, dancefloor, and 75 guests seated in the space. Hotel staff and food service were attentive to our needs and very approachable. We had issues with the venue coordinator/catering director, which I believe is a contracted service for Marriott (Sage Hospitality Group). It involved communication- the original contact was wonderful but left a few months before the wedding. With the change in staff came difficult communication- emails being lost, voice messages left with no return, etc. I spent around 6 weeks trying to contact the new venue/event coordinator with no success. We then hired an outside wedding coordinator and it was the best decision. After similar difficulty, she was able to connect with the venue and begin finalizing details just two weeks before the wedding. The venue coordinator seemed to brush over our concerns (about the 1 bartender, setup/timeline) but the hired coordinator was able to help advocate and take the lead. The day of our event went flawlessly from my perspective, but I attribute that to my hired coordinator. I saw the venue coordinator only once on the wedding day. I’d highly recommend hiring your own if you were to hold a wedding here, I just didn’t get the impression that my wedding would be executed to our expectation with the current catering director. Overall we had a great day!

We had our wedding at Met Cafe on September 21, 2024, and I can honestly say it was everything Chris and I dreamed of and more. From the very beginning (from touring Met Cafe to the day of the wedding), the experience was seamless. Des So (venue owner) went above and beyond to help us coordinate every detail for our wedding of nearly 200 guests with my wedding coordinator (Jennette Le- Lilo Weddings). His care, professionalism, and attention to detail truly made the day unforgettable while making coordination between all vendors seamless. One of the most magical moments of the day was our first look on the rooftop, with the stunning view of the National Monument behind us. It was picture perfect, literally. We took some of our favorite wedding photos there, and it gave our day an elevated, iconic DC/urban city feel that we’ll treasure forever. The venue itself was beautifully set up to reflect the fusion of cultures (Chinese, Korean, Laotian) we hoped to celebrate. The layout, decor, and overall vibe perfectly captured that feeling of warmth, love, and unity. Throughout the day, our family/friends kept commenting on how well everything came together. It wasn’t just a wedding, it felt like an experience that brought everyone closer, which is exactly what we wanted. And the food, literally chefs kiss- amazing! The venue’s in-house catering absolutely blew everyone away. Multiple guests told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had (and we agree!). Every bite was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, from hors d'oeuvres to dessert. We are beyond thankful to Met Cafe and our vendors for making our wedding not just a special day, but a joyful, meaningful celebration of love, family, and community.
