My husband and I aren't fans of stiff, traditional wedding photos and wanted someone who does more documentary-style wedding photography. I was so glad when we found Misha. She was such a pleasure to work with and knew exactly how to handle a big family with many opinions. I've only gotten the sneak peak photos since we married only two weeks ago but I am already blown away by the results. They look like they belong in Vanity Fair. She captured such beautiful moments and I can't want to see the full set!

Annalee was wonderful to work with. From the initial conversation to the actual day. She had great communication and it was also awesome to see her portfolio grow while we were waiting for our own special day. Annalee was super professional and sweet to work with. She handled all the chaos of our wedding very well and I super appreciate that she was able to take control of getting the shots when things were confusing and overwhelming. It was actually really nice to be directed when theres so much going on! In regards to her work, she has an excellent eye for framing and beautiful color grading. Her vibes come off as someone who really cares about their craft, as well as you, the client! We got our photos back about a month after and feel that literally every shot is perfect. There's a fantastic mix of behind the scenes, candids, staged etc. Our photos just feel very authentic and personal. These photos really help us relive the day (best day ever!) Sarah Peterson Photography

5.0

San Francisco, CA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,888

I'm a Bay Area native with over 12 years in the commercial photography realm. I got my start on the beaches of Los Angeles back in 2012 shooting commercial swimwear campaigns for some of the best designers in swim and fashion. That opened the door to countless opportunities with modeling agencies, reality television, and fashion design. In 2018 I made the move back up north to San Francisco where I grew up. With a wide network of friends and family up here, I found myself catapulted into the Wedding and Elopement industry - and absolutely loved it! I'm honored when I get to be a part of one of the best days of a couple's life together.

Awarded Best of Zola
Our experience with Sarah was absolutely fantastic. From the beginning, communication was smooth and effortless, with prompt responses to emails and even video conferences to discuss details. Our photography package included an engagement photoshoot in addition to wedding photography. The quality of the photos from both our engagement session and wedding day was outstanding. One of the highlights was receiving a few 'preview pictures' shortly after each shoot, allowing us to enjoy some beautiful moments right away. The pricing was transparent, and the payment portal was easy to use, making the financial aspects stress-free. Throughout the process, Sarah provided invaluable advice on shot lists and was incredibly easy to work with when it came to posing. If we had a specific idea or location in mind for a photo, she not only took the lead but also enhanced our vision beyond what we could have imagined. She also emailed us ideas and example photos for different locations for our engagement photoshoot, helping us make our vision a reality. On our wedding day, Sarah took many photos throughout our events, including getting ready in the bridal suite, first looks, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, speeches, and reception. She was excellent at directing our family members to ensure we got all our posed family photos. Sarah also took some beautiful shots of just us post-ceremony. Throughout the dinner and reception, we felt at ease and relaxed knowing Sarah was there capturing every moment. Beyond the professional aspects, our interactions with our photographer made us feel like we were working with a close friend. She always helped us to feel comfortable in front of the camera, despite us being introverted and inexperienced with being professionally photographed. Her support and encouragement throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding were truly appreciated and added to the overall wonderful experience. We highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a talented and personable photographer for their special day.

Courtney is the reason why we love Photoflood Studio so much! It's so important to feel comfortable and happy with someone that is going to capture one of the most important days of your life, and Courtney really goes above and beyond to really get to know you as a person and as a couple. She really knows how to make you feel comfortable and to just be yourself. (And I think that's key to a perfect picture.) Another great thing about Photoflood Studio was how professional and thorough they are. They reminded us of things we didn't even know we had to do and always checked in on us and made sure we were on track. Obviously the photos came out great~ but what makes Photoflood so special are the people involved. We were so lucky to have her not just as a photographer but also as a friend to talk to or ask for advice throughout the whole wedding planning process. She is an amazing photographer but also just an amazing person! Also shoutout to Jackson- we love you too! Thank you!

Artistic storytelling for the fun, kind and adventurous. Hi friend! :) I'm your neighborhood artist, goofy empath, & lover of dogs and human beans. (Name is pronounced Hasmeen, kinda like jalapeño) My goal is to be a source of joy and vulnerability in your life while helping you feel grounded on your big day and ~even more~ grateful for the life you live and the love you choose.

Awarded Best of Zola
5 stars doesn't seem like nearly enough recognition for Jazmín and her absolutely beautiful work. From day one with us, she was incredibly kind, and sought out to learn more about us as both individuals and as a couple, to better capture the essence of who we are throughout our engagement shoot and wedding alike. She is so very talented and has such an incredible eye for the beauty in her clients, the world around them, and has such a deep perspective on how to blend all of these aspects together to ensure that you have these memories for the rest of your life. The days following our wedding, I felt very melancholy, as I had felt our fun filled day had gone by too fast. Now, with Jazmín's astonishing pictures and her ability to capture raw emotion in every frame, my wife and I have the blissful opportunity to relive our day together over and over and over again. Not to mention, she is an absolute sweetheart and made us feel so very special in so many ways. I PROMISE you needn't look any further when searching for a photographer to help you immortalize your special day with your loved ones.

I’m so grateful we had Barbara and her second shooter at our wedding! The rain was nonstop, the venue turned into a muddy mess, and I was completely overwhelmed. But these two handled it all like absolute pros—staying upbeat, rolling with the chaos, and even making jokes to lift my sister and mom’s spirits when they started stressing out. Their energy and support made such a difference! Thank you both for being there for us—I truly appreciated it. Can’t wait to see you again for our maternity shoot!

As a photographer of life, love and beauty, Tara Arrowood does what she loves every day. She captures beauty in all things- people, animals, and spaces. Her main goal? It’s simply to make people happy. She uses her lens to show inner beauty, authentic emotions, and life’s precious/fleeting moments. Tara offers photography and cinematography services for any sized wedding. Tell her your plans and she’ll create a schedule that includes everything to tell your story!

Awarded Best of Zola
I truly can’t recommend Tara and her team more highly. Not only is she an incredibly skilled and professional photographer who always captures that shot of a moment you never want to forget, she’s also a wonderfully kind, funny, and thoughtful person to work with. We first met when she shot engagement and wedding photos for my husband and I, and for years to come we reminisced about how great she was at taking beautiful photos and also wrangling wild, wiggly little kiddos. She even pitched in at our wedding and with a big smile on her face, bustled my enormous wedding dress — her assistant got a great photo of that! We were thrilled with how our photos turned out, as well as our 5 minute cinematic video which felt like the quality of an epic movie trailer of our special day. We were so happy to see her again for another family wedding years later, and most recently she took stunning and personal family photos with our little one. I’m already conjuring up another reason to work with Tara again because in addition to her gorgeous photos, she’s just a great person to be around.

Duy Ho Photography

5.0

San Francisco, CA
  • Photojournalistic style

My professional background was cultivated in the field of architecture and design. But around 2010, my obsession with photography overcame my passion for architecture and I changed course. Through years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve developed a genuine love and appreciation for these emotional events. To me, weddings are emotionally-charged, symbolic celebrations. They often inspire pure expressions, words and feelings from the couple and their family and friends.

Awarded Best of Zola
Mandy Scott Events has worked with Duy Ho Photography many times since we first met as part of the team for a multi-day destination Indian wedding in 2014. Duy is the photographer I most often recommend to my clients. He does not consider himself an artist but a craftsman; I see him as both. His images reflect a unique artistry crafted from years spent figuring out the use of natural light and framing of his subject. He tells the story of the wedding day for his clients capturing emotion and documenting the events as they unfold in an unfussy way. He is always well prepared ahead of the event and exudes a calm energy throughout even the most hectic and longest of wedding days. He is quick to deliver a sneak peak to clients right after their big day and their gallery is always delivered in a timely manner. Can you tell I'm a huge fan of his work?!

For some unknown reason I have loved weddings since I was a kid. That’s the first thing. But then… I got married. And that is indescribable. So… if you happen to be here because you have met someone special, and you are making moves, CONGRATULATIONS! You really are in for the ride of a lifetime. So… my first photos? Yup. They were from a wedding! Unfortunately they took the human knee as their subject because I was short, because I was five years old. One auspicious day I brought a camera to a friends’ wedding. I partied. I had a fabulous time. Afterwards they told me I should have said something, my photos were better than the hired pro.

We hired Paul for our San Francisco wedding and it was easily one of the best decisions we made. In addition to beautifully (and creatively) capturing the energy and excitement of the day, Paul was also an absolutely pleasure to work with at ever step of the way. Our wedding was in San Francisco this past August and had approximately 65 people in attendance. To say that we had high expectations for our wedding photographer was an understatement: we wanted someone who would be able to capture the dynamic energy and emotion of our big day in a natural, joyful way. I am happy to say that Paul exceeded all of our expectations and then some. We initially reached out to Paul in February through his website and we scheduled an introductory phone call. At that time I was chatting with a few different photographers in the Bay Area but was impressed at Paul's thoughtful questions regarding our vision of big day as well as the logistical considerations (venue locations, lighting , size, etc). From our first meeting at his lovely home, Paul was kind, thoughtful, considerate which made us feel like we were in good hands and helped put us at ease during the craziness of the planning. He asked us to consider which moments would be most important to our wedding and helped us think through the logistics of the day. Paul was also helpful in planning some of the big day itself: we had scheduled a city tour with our guests to occur between the ceremony and reception but were unsure where to go in the city. He recommended locations that would be both enjoyable for our guests and would make good backdrops for photos. In addition to the city tour, the day itself had a lot of moving parts which could have been really challenging to photograph (indoor ceremony in City Hall, outdoor brass band parade in full sunlight, indoor reception with low lighting in small antique store). Paul and his second shooter were well prepared and able to shot gorgeous photos in every location. Paul was also very mindful of which moments would be most meaningful to us. For example, we had mentioned that we specifically wanted lots of dancing photos from the reception and so Paul made sure a remote flash lighting system was set up in the reception venue which made for some fantastic dance floor shots. We had also said that we wanted to make sure we had a lot of candid photos of our friends of family and so Paul made sure to mingle among our guests, putting them at ease and getting natural, candid photos of our loved ones. After the wedding, Paul was able to send us our sneak peaks only after 24 hours (!) and the full gallery a short time after that. At this point, I was already very impressed but what happened after that really blew me away: Paul emailed me a few weeks after the wedding to me to ask if he could photograph some details from the wedding that he wasn't able to get on the big day (handkerchiefs from the brass band parade, wedding invitations, etc). He told me that he felt that those details were important in telling the story of our wedding and he wanted to make sure they were captured. I realize that it would've been easy for Paul to simply send the photos he already had but the fact that he found it was important to capture all the small details really speaks to his thoughtfulness, professionalism and excellence. We can't thank you enough, Paul!

I fell in love with photography while I was living in Nairobi, Kenya for a few months. When I returned to Penn State, I decided to change my major to photojournalism! I started a portrait photography business in college and continued after graduation. Now, a full time wedding photographer living in San Francisco, I couldn't be more thankful for that trip to Kenya! It led me to my passion and has allowed me to live it out!

We had the pleasure of working with Hannah for our City Hall ceremony day. She was a great communicator and kept us in the loop in regards to timing/location. The way Hannah navigated City Hall was truly incredible - we are still blown away how she got so many photos in one hour! People see our photos & think we rented out the space - but nope, Hannah was somehow able to get all of our photos with no bystanders in the background! She felt like an old friend, and any nerves we had for a) getting married or b) doing such a personal shoot with a stranger disappeared immediately. Thank you, Hannah!
