The whole staff is so accommodating and pays close attention to detail. I was able to structure out the entire wedding ceremony and reception months before the Big Day. Your event just got more sophisticated. When you book with Brandt 1910 you are adding historical style and class to your wedding, party, or private event. Built in 1910 by F.D. Brandt, the "Coca-Cola" building was originally constructed as a general store. Later, the building was split in two to make room for a pharmacy which complimented the nearby local doctor's office which was run by Dr. J.T. Mize, Physician, and Surgeon from 1920 - 1944. The general store, pharmacy, and doctor's office played an integral role in supporting the local commerce that was brought in by the Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railroad. In the 1960s the general store was sold and over the years played host to a number of restaurants and an antique store which was owned by Cal Ray Schluter who believed in preserving the old building for future generations. In 2022, Mr. Schluter sold the building to Joshua and Natalie DeJong with the purpose of restoring and preserving the building for its historic beauty.

I can’t say enough about how stunning this reception hall is! The photos truly don’t do it justice, it’s even more breathtaking in person. Every detail is elegant and thoughtfully designed, creating the perfect atmosphere for any event. What made the experience even better was the amazing staff. They were incredibly helpful, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. This is the absolute best place to get married. We had an amazing rehearsal and wedding night here. It is so beneficial that they offer a wedding eve package for your rehearsal that includes the houses on the venue. Our family/friends were traveling out of town and this was very convenient, plus the houses are incredibly beautiful and well put together. The catering being incorporated into the venue created so much ease it was unbelievable, plus the food is soooo good, our guests raved about it. Many said this was the best wedding food they had ever had! I could go on and on about how amazing the Orchard is. We are so grateful to the team there and Tess who was our day-of coordinator. Tess was fantastic!

AvantGarden (and Mariana, the owner) did a great job with our wedding, especially considering the extreme weather we experienced! We appreciated that the venue was mostly all-inclusive, especially when planning the event from out of town, and for a very reasonable price! The event space itself has a casual, fun vibe with plenty of room for our guests (175) to explore and excellent food and drinks. Many of our guests made a point to come up to us and tell us how much fun they had and how awesome the venue was, and we were shocked by how many people said the taco truck (venue recommendation) was the best wedding food they had ever had! The staff was great and made some excellent cocktails and I also have to shout out DJ Dillon for bringing such a fun vibe to our karaoke after party (another Mariana recommendation). You do need to put your faith in Mariana and be prepared to "let go", however. If you're looking to be very hands-on and are particular about all the little details, prepare to be frustrated because that's not the way Mariana works. She has her own process and knows what will and will not work based on experience, and she can be tricky to get in touch with until closer to the wedding date. Ultimately, though, she came through and did an excellent job for us. Trust in Mariana! Overall, it was super helpful that AvantGarden took care of most of the wedding planning (including delivering our flowers to our off-site ceremony venue), and the space made for such a fun atmosphere during the reception. I would definitely recommend AvantGarden as a wedding venue, especially for couples who are looking for a less stuffy and more unique atmosphere and who are looking to be more hands-off in the planning process.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning and has such an enchanting, fairytale-like charm across the entire property. I also love how the venue is owned and managed by one family. You can easily see how much love and work they put into it all, to make sure these couples have the best wedding possible, and I really appreciate that. The value of the package we chose, definitely met our standards. We had access to the grounds for the entire day of the wedding (9AM-11PM), which was really advantageous, and there was even complimentary valet. The bride and groom both had their own separate quarters, which were very old houses with such ancestral and historic character that I really adored. The food was delicious and better than expected, since most weddings I've been to had very bland and disappointing dishes. The Chef on-site was very kind and helpful during the tasting process. Jose, the property manager, was very generous with his time and was very understanding and communicative with visits, tastings, and vendor schedules. There were a couple of times that there was confusion with contacts and miscommunications over phone calls/texts, but it was quickly figured out. As for the day of the wedding, the weather was highly unpredictable. It started off sunny and then it stormed for a few hours and then it cleared up just in time for the ceremony to still be held outdoors, and then it rained again for hours- shortly after the ceremony. However, Jose reassured me that they were all fully prepared to rearrange for everything to be indoors, if need be. The only qualms I really had with the night was when the food was being served, it got disorganized and confusing, since we didn't want a seating chart but had two entree options- so we tried to give everyone color-coordinating name plates, but it did not seem to workout too well. Everyone eventually got a meal, though. However, my husband and I wanted our dinners to be boxed up, since we were too anxious and excited to eat. We had told our coordinator this, and she said she would tell Jose to make sure it was done, but I guess the word never got back to him and the food was unfortunately thrown away. Similar situation happened with the cake, because we thought we were going to have the top tier saved for the 1 year anniversary tradition, but I think it was all served, which isn't really a big deal to us (I would rather my guests each have a slice of cake). When the wedding was ending after the grand exit, it got really hectic with packing and cleaning, because of the rain and everyone leaving at the same time, but Jose was really kind about us coming back the following day to pick up all the items that were left behind. Overall, the venue is beautiful and definitely worth it's value, all the staff are very friendly and exceptionally accommodating-I highly recommend it. We had a great time and everyone was happy, and I can't wait to go back to the venue for the complimentary, 1st anniversary bed and breakfast they offer!

Your Something Old & New! Olde Dobbin Station will provide a unique experience for its clients through the use of old structures built in the early 1900’s, restored to their original look and feel, while adding a vintage touch. The buildings were initially used by oil companies as a “pumping station” and later became a famous place of fellowship for those in the community due to its Artesian Water Well. It became the community “swimming hole” according to many of the locals and remains a historical marker for the community and its residents. Olde Dobbin has recently renovated its final structure and officially has made it into a chapel. The “chapel” was initially used in the late 1800’s as a pump house for the nearby trains' steam.

With have lots of options for hosting your wedding at our property including a venue with large windows facing the pond, the patio with a firepit, waterside under our large pecan trees or anywhere on the lawn areas. Our current indoor venue can hold up to 90 guests but with so much land, we can host larger events with an open air concept. Come tour our property to learn about our new upcoming building for 250 guests.

P. A. Smith Hotel and Event Center

The town of Navasota was founded in 1854 and the tracks brought the railroad by 1859. One of the first buildings built here was a hotel, built by Ms. Louisa Loftin. She was quite the ambitious widow for a woman during the late nineteenth century. Conflicting research shows the hotel was either built as early as 1860 or as late as 1876. She soon met and married P. A. Smith and the hotel bore his name. At first, the railroad brought a great number of patrons, but, unfortunately, the Civil War brought the economy of Navasota as well as the success of the hotel, down, after only a few years.
