Q: What do you wear?

We perform in 1920's-30's vintage formal attire. We have several different options to choose from, client favorites are our vintage black or vintage cream looks.

Q: Do you learn new songs?

Absolutely! We love to personalize your event by performing music that is meaningful to you for your special moments. Learning special songs for the Bridal/Bridal Party processionals, recessionals, first dance, parent dances are all included in our fee. If you have other songs you'd like us to learn, we can do so for an additional fee.

Q: Do you provide music for wedding ceremonies or cocktail receptions?

Yes! We have several instrumentation options to choose from that are wonderful choices for ceremonies and cocktail hours. Please contact us for more details!

Q: Are you fully insured?

Yes! We obtain a COI specifically for your event to ensure that the coverage meets the requirements of your venue.

Q: How early do you come to set up?

We require 90 minutes-2 hours of set up time before the guests arrive.

Q: Do you travel outside of the NYC area?

We are available to travel anywhere in the world for our clients. Our travel fees are based on the destination. Please contact us for more details.

Q: Do you provide your own sound system?

We can provide a small sound system that is powerful enough for 100-120 guests. If your event is larger than this, please let us know and we can put you in touch with one of our professional sound vendors for a quote.

Q: Can you provide sound for our ceremony officiant?

No, unfortunately we do not have this capability. Ceremony sound is very important so that all of your guests can hear you say "I do" and you can get great quality audio for your wedding video! We suggest hiring professional sound for this and we have recommendations!

Q: How many musicians are in your band?

Our full band is 6 pieces - Female vocalist, accordion, violin, guitar, bass and percussion. For full events we require all 6 musicians to be contracted. For some shorter events we can provide a smaller group. Please contact us to discuss your specific event.

We perform in 7 languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian and Yiddish

Carte Blanche is a 6-piece jazz ensemble based in New York City that performs international jazz classics from the 1920’s to the 1950’s. Featuring accordion, violin and female vocals, the group has performed around the globe. With their unique international sound and glamorous vintage style, Carte Blanche transports its audiences to times gone by with original renditions of classic songs in 7 languages – English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Yiddish. The ensemble’s versatile instrumentation has a rich captivating sound which brings elegance and refinement to any event.

Female fronted and always dressed to the nines, we bring a unique look and sound to events. With our wide range of international repertoire, we can accommodate many different styles and are a great choice for ceremony cocktail hour, reception or the entire event!

We can't say enough about how amazing Carte Blanche was at our event. Not only are they incredible musicians, but Kate the bandleader made everything so smooth from the planning process. She was very thorough and made sure everything went off without a hitch. They learned a few special songs for our ceremony and reception and put their own special touch on them to make it really special for us. They looked so glamorous and our friends and family are still telling us how unique they were, and couldn't believe how many languages the singer can sing in! This band is truly special and will elevate your wedding. Thank you Carte Blanche for an unforgettable night!
