Our Event Planning Philosophy: Guests should be pampered. Whether it’s a wedding, holiday party, or business event, the celebration is about you and your guests. And that’s why EJP Events goes the extra mile to ensure that every aspect of your event makes you and your attendees feel right at home. “Pampering” is not just about caviar, ice luges, and dreamy lighting (although our event and design team can make that happen) it’s also about taking care of people. It’s about the things that no one notices until they go wrong: signage, maps, logistics, itineraries, and accessibility.

We plan the guest experience from the moment they open their invitation, to the time they leave the venue to go home. Including virtual venues! All so you can look great and enjoy the wonderful, fun experience you deserve. Emee Pumarega, (Founder) has been working in hospitality since 1997. She began her hospitality career in Austin, Texas, at Green Pastures Restaurant (now called Mattie’s) and at Doubletree by Hilton. Her almost 20 years as an event professional business owner in Portland, Oregon, and her experience in envisioning, co-creating, and managing successful and memorable events of all kinds are the cornerstone of the company.

We have over 40 years of combined experience planning weddings across our team. Our owner, Emee, started the business in Austin in 1999 and has planned weddings in Texas, Washington State, Oregon, and the Northeast.

Our team is available worldwide and has both wedding planner and travel agency capabilities for your destination wedding in any location. Our team is mostly based in Portland, Oregon, though on any given day you might find us in your home town! Our 2025 projects will take us to Boston, Houston, Hyderabad, Minneapolis, Frankfurt, London, Philadelphia, D.C., and Charlotte NC -- to name just a few. Recent projects have seen us in Tokyo, the Columbia River Gorge, Boston, and the Seattle/Puget Sound area.

EJP Events specializes in culturally competent, inclusive, and sustainable weddings. We'll help you identify potential pitfalls that could impact your and your guests' experience, and address them before they arise. We also have plenty of creative ideas to reduce waste—whether it's plastic, water, or food—so you can begin your next chapter knowing that your celebration reflected your values and made a lasting, positive impact on the environment.

EJP Events has two lead wedding planners, Emee and Josie. We are supported by a roster of wonderful associate event coordinators and administrative staff. In addition, we have access to any type of event labor you are looking for, whether it's setup and teardown staff, lighting and AV techs, or even security. The great thing is you don't need to coordinate all these folks - we will!

Yes! The vast majority of the weddings we plan are destination affairs with multiple days of events.

In Stage I of planning, we will typically have more frequent meetings on a weekly or biweekly basis depending on how much needs tackling. In Stage II, as we are detailing out your booked vendors, meetings may go less frequent and be on a monthly basis. In Stage III, we go back to more frequent check-ins in the last six weeks. If you book only one stage of planning, that will affect how much time we spend and how many meetings you access. Meetings are typically 60 minutes each. You also have access to a project management system with messaging, so we can communicate anytime and keep all your thoughts and ideas organized in the project.

Absolutely not. Each of our Lead Wedding Planners works on only one wedding per weekend, and it’s more common for us to focus on just one wedding per month. Since our full-service, three-stage planning programs are highly sought-after, we dedicate a great deal of time and energy to delivering a high level of personalized service—something that wouldn’t be possible if we took on too many weddings.
