I’m Marielys (Mari), founder of Elle Events. I plan and design vibrant, elegant, and inclusive weddings in DC and beyond, always with a focus on meaningful details and guest-centered experiences. From full-service planning to wedding day management (aka day-of coordination), I offer expert guidance, clear communication, and a creative eye to bring your vision to life. As a native Spanish speaker and lover of culture, I specialize in celebrations that reflect your story and honor what matters most.

We embody people-first, detail-driven approach to planning. With nearly 20 years of leadership experience, our team blends strategy, creativity, and calm execution to craft events that feel intentional, polished and inclusive. From guest experience to vendor management, we value clarity, care, and cultural fluency—delivering wedding celebrations that are elegant, meaningful, and deeply personal. Description	Full-service wedding planning + design, including wedding day management. We handle project planning, vendor sourcing, timelines, logistics, design, budget, and guest experience. Includes day-of team (lead planner + associates), rehearsal, full setup coordination, and seamless vendor management to deliver a cohesive, beautiful, and memorable celebration.	Our Partial Planning package includes full wedding day management plus expert support starting 6 months out. Includes 3 formal planning meetings and up to 10 hours of consultation—covering vendor recommendations, contract review, design guidance, and more—to ensure a seamless, well-supported wedding experience.	Our Wedding Day Management (aka Day of Coordination) package ensures your day runs flawlessly. We lead your rehearsal, create and manage the timeline, and coordinate all setup and vendors. With a lead planner and support team onsite, we handle every detail—ensuring a seamless flow, high-quality guest experience, and stress-free celebration that takes your vision to the next level of excellence.	Our Elopement Package is designed for couples planning a small-scale celebration (up to 20 guests) that’s deeply personal, effortlessly stylish, and stress-free. Our services include access to our curated elopement planning guide, up to four (4) hours of day of management and up to two hours of photography coverage. This package is perfect for couples looking to keep it intimate without compromising on experience or style.

Mari was amazing to work with on my wedding! I was having a small wedding but decided I needed someone to handle day of coordination. Not only did she handle logistics/coordination but so much more. She gave good insight and guidance when I wasn't sure about some decisions and was super supportive. She really helped me pull things together. I highly recommend her for your wedding planning/coordination!

Wow! Mari and Kat are wonderful. They made our wedding week and wedding day seamless, beautiful, and fun. They made sure every last detail went according to plan. Kat did an especially good job with the rehearsal, which led to an absolutely perfect ceremony. And at the end of the night, all of the leftover food, our items, everything was packed and ready to go. I highly recommend!

I work with a team to execute your wedding to a high level of quality and connection. Each wedding will have at lead planner and at minimum one associate planner that will support your wedding day (more depending on guest count).

Absolutely! I love to plan all types of events, especially as it relates to your wedding. We will just require at least three months advanced notice to accommodate your needs successfully.

Your wedding day is our sole focus and top priority. We do not take multiple weddings in a day, as we value connection and know how important it is for our team to provide undivided attention to your special day.

Prior to starting Elle Events, I spent over a decade planning special events for diverse clients and groups. Since 2019, I have supported 40+ couples in planning their wedding days with diverse array of styles, traditions and priorities. Celebrations have ranged from intimate gatherings of 20 to multiday celebrations of 500+ guests. I have worked with many multicultural couples and couples seeking to reimagine cherished traditions and customs into a modern celebration that reflects their unique love story and values.

By your wedding day, I will be an honorary family member :) Planning a wedding successfully requires close collaboration and strong communication is key. Depending on your contracted services, you will engage in at least two formal planning check in's (more, if you are a partial planning or full service planning and design client). However, we will set all communication cadences with consideration for your needs and overarching input.
