Paige Hall
Paige Hall features post-beam cathedral ceilings, large Palladian window, magnificent chandeliers and a greenhouse wall of windows.
Paige Hall is one of the more spectacular wedding reception locations at the Publick House. We embrace weddings and all other special pre and post wedding plans during your weekend.

Wonderful for an intimate dinner party!
Ideal for a mid-size gathering, this charismatic room with its unique barrel vaulted ceiling and wall of window seating overlooks our front patio. You'll find no finer place for an intimate dinner meeting or reception. This room’s name remains The Ballroom in memory of its legacy, where the ladies and men gathered for formal parties and dancing. An original 1771 flag is hung on the wall.

Crafts Hall
Perfect for a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner or baby shower
Enjoy the beauty of this room’s wood-burning fireplace and bay window with access to our front patio. It is the perfect mid-size to large room for social celebrations and small weddings. Business meetings have the flexibility of a classroom, U-Shape or hollow square set-up with plenty of room, as needed for audio equipment. This room was named after the founder Col. Ebenezers Crafts for all the hard work that he did for the Sturbridge area as well as Publick House Historic Inn.

The Garden Tent
Our white framed tent with side walls and clear arched windows sits from May through October. Surrounded by glorious gardens
Our garden tent area in the back of the Inn is a perfect reception site. It has a stone paver floor, brick walkway entrance, two chandeliers and perimeter rope lighting. Your tables, white chairs, linens and lantern centerpieces are all included with renting our tent. The natural beauty of our Red Barn Patio adds a unique flare to the garden tent area, making it the perfect venue for cocktail receptions, weddings, outdoor gatherings, reunions and business outings.

Everything was amazing!
If you are looking for a wedding venue on a moderate budget, the Publick House Inn is a no-brainer!! We had a December wedding and right from the start we knew it was the right venue. Everything was so charming- the perfect vibe if you want a classy, cozy, traditional New England vibe, but you don't want it to feel insanely uptight or uncomfortable. Our planners, Allison and Lia, were AMAZING! They were extremely responsive, kind and helpful with every single question we had. Honestly, every member of the staff we encountered was so friendly and that made our experience that much better. Now in terms of price, I think you could not get an all-around better deal. I had been quoted 10K for a tent alone in some venues closer to Boston, but with the Publick House in we were able to have an event for 100 people which included hors d'oeuvres, a nice three-course meal, a cake *included* and we even had enough left in our budget to have an open bar!! The setting in central MA also made the experience so convenient and relaxing for everyone; almost like a mini-resort in the country. If you are considering the Publick House - schedule a tour!! It was so perfect we wish we could do it again.
Publick House
The Publick House Historic Inn is an excellent choice for a wedding venue. Their communication style is always attentive to the details, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience. They are always prepared when the guests arrive, providing exceptional service and value. The venue has a fleet of 8 passenger carts to transport the wedding party, parents, and any guests who need special assistance, which is a wonderful convenience. Our company has been hosting events at The Publick Inn for over 38 years, and we've witnessed the quality of their offerings improve over the years - we've never had a bad experience. The Publick House is AMAZING!!!!
The Publick House really is the perfect venue for a wedding. They have a ton of stuff done in house (food, cake, lodging, wedding venue, reception venue) that it really makes the whole process easy. All of my interactions with their staff were positive and helpful and it felt like they all really cared we had the best day possible. On day of there were absolutely no complaints with their wedding coordinator and assistant, they were on hand and helping us with anything we needed. The food was great and I didn't hear any complaints from guests about the cocktail hour food or the receptioupset. (Get the carrot cake it's divine!!). Both the Arbor (wedding venue) and Paige Hall (reception venue) were gorgeous and wonderful locations to hold a wedding, it's even better that they are like a 2 minute walk from eachother. One particular interaction that stood out to me and when we were considering what "extras" we wanted to pay for, we felt that the "base" chairs weren't the most pretty and were considering "upgrading" to the premium chairs [8 a chair, eeek], their main sales person Cathy was pretty blunt with us and recommended against it. She said that those nicer looking chairs are super uncomfortable and not worth it and told us once people were all seated they would just blend into the room. It definitely stood out as a "They are trying to help us out here" moment and not them endlessly trying to upsell. We went with the base chairs and I didn't even notice really. 100% wonderful venue would recommend anyone get married here!
Absolutely amazing
We knew from the moment we drove into the parking lot that this was going to be our venue! We had an appointment with Cathy O'Brien (we still keep in touch with her to this day) and were floored with her honesty, advice, excitement, and recommendations that we signed a contract that day. Our wedding and reception were held in Paige Hall in January of 2023 and it was stunning. The staff went above and beyond, and we can honestly say that the entire event went smoothly. The food was amazing and the portions are bigger than we could have expected--not a single guest needed to do a late night Wendy's run as this was not the typical wedding food that we are used to getting at other places. From the event coordinator to the service staff, everyone was incredibly kind and professional. The property itself is comfortable, there is plenty to do on-site as well as in the area, and we recommend opting for renting The Cottage for a post wedding hangout--it is a great spot for those that want to continue spending time together after the reception is over. We have been back to the Publick House more than a few times since the wedding, as we live close enough to do so. Often we will go for dinner, but the wedding package includes a 1yr Anniversary dinner and they will even make you your wedding cake again--and that dinner was delicious. We have felt welcomed each time we have gone back and will probably make our way there this weekend as writing this has brought back a lot of happy memories. We highly recommend this venue and we hope our feedback has been helpful to anyone who is looking into the Publick House.
