About this venue
The Atrium is hidden away in downtown, historic Norcross. A step off the sidewalk behind a vine-covered iron gate, a secret garden awaits discovery for the perfect spring and summer wedding venue. Each spring, full-grown lilac azaleas scent the air with their sweetness, followed by a shower of tiny white confederate jasmine blooms spilling over the gazebo's filigree dome. Summer brings daylilies, gardenias, and fluffy blossoms of mophead hydrangeas mixed in with repeat-blooming impatiens and hybrid roses.

Our event spaces
The Atrium Wedding Venue
The Atrium features two stories of newly remodeled spaces for couples to choose from. One of the main highlights of this space is the ballroom, which spans the two floors and features a dance floor perfect for celebrating after the ceremony is over. For your convenience, this property contains both a bride and groom room so that your parties can prepare in separate spaces. The uncovered outdoor spaces are just as stunning as the indoor ones. All throughout the secret gardens, you will find a variety of lush greenery and flowers. Depending on the season, you and your wedding party can enjoy everything from hybrid roses to lilac azaleas. In addition to the many blooms, there are also plenty of eye-catching details, such as the vine-covered gazebo, iron filigree dome, and a fountain found throughout this space.

Response to facility leadership
This is a review I hoped I would not have to write, because our wedding was beautiful. Our second event coordinator Jessica was great (accommodated a family member’s special diet), and the CEO Kristin spoke with my wife during the process to ensure mounting concerns were heard. Unfortunately, facility leadership chose to describe my wife’s concerns as “misunderstandings which were limited to our experience with you,” a characterization that is neither accurate nor fair to us or those who read these reviews. Bottom line: If you choose A Divine Event, keep a close eye on every budget line item in the evolving invoice process. The following facts, based on documentation, are not misunderstandings: 1. Our first event coordinator replied negatively or vaguely to most e-mailed questions we had about menu alterations, tainting our experience early on. Answers later evolved as a much more attentive coordinator (Jessica) took over. 2. It was not our misunderstanding but a fact that a new invoice showed desserts suddenly increased .50 per person. (This was fixed after we caught it.) 3. It was not our misunderstanding but a fact that a 150 early arrival fee credit became only a 2 credit. (This was fixed after we caught it.) 4. It was not our misunderstanding but a fact that tablecloths increased inexplicably by 5 with a new invoice. (This was fixed after we caught it.) 5. It was not our misunderstanding but a fact that 11 days before the wedding we were emailed that a draft of our large “Welcome sign” would be ready to review “within the next week” after we had discussed it for months (This was fixed after we caught it.) In the end, Laura and her team created a beautiful sign….If only we could have been spared the stress! Some other facts (not misunderstandings) that degraded the experience: 1. As the process proceeded, my emails were consistently answered much faster than my wife’s emails. I hesitate to mischaracterize this pattern, but it existed and is objectively demonstrable. 2. Melissa asked us via email to sign a contract for venue change and ask further questions later. While we appreciated the site allowing us to make the change, this direction was uncomfortable. 3. We looked forward to a to-go bag containing each item from the buffet. Mahi Mahi was the main dish but we were not given any. Additionally, within our take-home basket were mini, 8oz waters. It seemed odd not to get a sample of the main dish and not even full bottles (16oz) of water. Maybe this one is just a pet peeve and, again, not a big deal, but it was one last annoying straw. 4. It is a fact that our first contact with our “day of” wedding coordinator was via email only 9 days before the event, and our only call with her (8 minutes) was 6 days before the event. This key individual should be involved in earlier planning sessions. 5. It is a fact that there continue to be questions if on-site security (which we paid for) was present during our daytime events, and not just that evening for a different event. Did these issues ruin the day? Absolutely not. Flint Hill is a beautiful facility and we appreciate the staff who worked hard. But are these issues simply my wife’s misunderstandings? No. And unfortunately my rating must represent the majority of the experience and not just the day itself. If you choose to plan a wedding with this company, view the planning process as a business transaction (which it is), reviewing each line item and document everything.
Response from vendor•Jun 2, 2025Barry, Glad to hear your wedding day experience was beautiful and that you thought your venue coordinator was great --we couldn't agree more! Ultimately, this is what we work so hard for - a successful wedding day experience! Unfortunately, there were many misunderstandings on your behalf regarding pricing and add-ons during the contract and planning process, and as such, it clearly tainted your experience of the venue coordination process. As a gesture of goodwill, we offered concessions and accommodations throughout the process due to these misunderstandings, which were limited to our experience with you. (This is what we are referring to, the misunderstandings regarding pricing, substitutions and inclusions that were specific to your planning process). It is unfortunate that after those gestures, and the admission that many concerns were simply erroneous assumptions, that you have chosen to pen this review. Once again, you have many wrong characterizations and assumptions here, which was a theme throughout the process. We did appreciate the warning regarding specific tendencies but between the numerous and consistent misunderstandings, unnecessary and unprofessional rants and lack of courtesy demonstrated in correspondence specifically with Sarah, the process took a toll on the team as well. It is unfortunate your perception has colored us so poorly, especially in spite of a fantastic event, but I am confident our discerning clients can read between the lines here. I choose not to debate each item with you. You absolutely received everything you paid for, and more. For our part, we are moving forward, using your feedback to drive us further in our goal of never-ending improvement and focusing on producing wonderful events for our clients each and every week! While we are saddened this will be a memory of your beautiful wedding experience, we are glad that we were able to produce a fantastic wedding day for you both, in spite of the challenges we experienced in doing so. We wish you and Sarah only the best as you begin this next chapter together!Planning was a nightmare then moved to Flint Hill
My wedding at Atrium/Flint Hill had two stories: The wedding day was fantastic, but the planning was a nightmare. I suspect the positive reviews reflect the former. I will share advice that I wish I had received before making a 50% deposit. My rating is based on the planning. The day of would get 4 stars. My wedding was scheduled for The Atrium, but we moved it to Flint Hill, eliminating Atrium-specific problems. Unfortunately, corporate policies and staff difficulties were present at both locations. - They provide a lot of staff on the day of the event, but some of them were people we had never met. We had an eight-minute call with our “Day of Reception Director” the week before the wedding. She is a part-time (weekends) employee who doesn't even have a company email address. - We were dazzled by Melissa's sales pitch. She spent 2 hours with us when we came in for a tour and it was great. We thought she would be a great ally in this process. She was super friendly and helpful through the contract process until we paid 50%. - We needed to read every version of the updated invoice to catch price changes. The price of our dessert was 9 until one day it was 9.50. They charged us 150 for early arrival with a 150 credit to cancel it out. One day that credit had changed from 150 to 2. Laura from the design studio “accidentally” increased the price of some tablecloths by 5 each. - Their contracts sometimes expire after two days, and they said we needed to sign before getting answers to our questions. This happened with 2 contract addendums. We asked questions. Melissa said “Any specific detail changes to this contract will be handled in the extended planning sessions.” - They marginalized me while behaving towards my husband. We had a recurrent problem where I would send an email, no response, husband reminds them, and they respond quickly. One time they ignored my email for five days. When he replied to my note, they responded to him within the hour. I don't know if it's because he's a man, he makes more money than I do, or they simply didn’t like me. - Menu changes come with an upcharge. You only get to put out one salad dressing. If you want your guests to have a choice, there is an 0.50 per person. Mashed potatoes come with no toppings. Want to add something as simple as sour cream or chives? 1 per person each. I want to thank Kristin, the CEO, for her help. Two months before our wedding, she allowed us to switch from the Atrium to Flint Hill because it was a better space for our needs. We had to pay 3,500 in additional fees, but we needed to do it, so we cut costs elsewhere to offset the fee Problems specific to The Atrium: - You will probably want to get ready offsite. The bridal suite is very small. There were 4 of us getting ready, and the room would have been too small. The groom's room is more like a walk-in closet than a room. These rooms are both upstairs with no bathroom. If anyone in your party is unable to get up the staircase, they will be getting ready in the public bathroom on the main floor. - If the bride and groom want to have some quiet time after the ceremony, it will be in the bridal room with no bathroom. Want to wash your hands or touch up your makeup? You need to go downstairs to the bathroom that the guests are all using. - You need a wifi backup plan. We were told that the wifi there is "spotty". When I asked why, they said "because this used to be a bank." I don't know how that is relevant.

The Atrium was the perfect choice for our wedding venue. From the beginning, their communication style was timely and thoughtful, which we really appreciated as we planned our special day. The quality of their work and venue was intimate, modern and personal,.exactly what we were looking for. The floral decorations were exactly what we wanted, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff was very nice and professional, and everything was on time and to our liking. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to celebrate our wedding.
