“Words cannot define the worth and joy it was to have Kawania and her team be a part of my wedding day. She was a constant advocate for our needs and budget throughout the process, being realistic at every turn. What I know now is that what you get with Kawania is experience and know-how of the industry. She has planned several weddings and events before and knows how to troubleshoot mishaps that may happen on the wedding day in real time. She understands that the day of the event is a special moment for everyone involved and she knows not to bring stress to the wedding party and to allow them to live in the moment. At subsequent weddings, I have felt that my friends needed this approach with their planners on their wedding day/weekend. I, being their guest or in their bridal party felt the disorganization that their planners or self-planning brought. This was not the case with Kawania. We had glowing comments about our wedding day for even a year after and how it was not just a ceremony but a day of entertainment. She is an excellent communicator. We had regular meetings throughout the year, about once a week. I have seen my friends have wedding planners who do not get back to them for several days after they have a question about their wedding. Kawania brought my vendors to me instead of me having to look for vendors on my own and when one did not work she always had another one that could take the place. She set up meetings with me and my vendors one-on-one and reviewed all of our vendor contracts to make sure that we were getting a fair contract and that expectations for the vendor and for us were both reasonable and what we were looking for. Being a very busy working professional I appreciated that Kawania went above and beyond to make sure that I stayed on the schedule and was extremely patient when there were moments when I could not. I value how she brought my vision to life and had such great attention to small details that my day was exceptional. I have seen my guests feature elements of my wedding at their subsequent events and it speaks to how she was able to set the bar high for what a classy and unique event should be. Far beyond a wedding planner, she has become someone that I keep in contact with after the wedding. She even checked in on me when there was a major catastrophic event that took place in the area where I lived months after the wedding. There were even moments when I became uncertain or stressed and focused on the wrong thing when it came to my wedding. Kawania, quite like a mother figure helped me realize what my focus should be and to ignore all other distractions so that when I walked down the aisle, I was in full confidence of how the day was going to be and did not feel a single ounce of stress on my wedding day. I could not be more thrilled to work with Kawania again. Although I do not see myself getting remarried I would certainly work with her for any big event I needed in the future. She has such a positive energy and global about her and brings a light to every interaction even difficult ones that makes her pleasant, respectable, dependable, and all around the absolute reason why my big day went off such success. I cannot state how tirelessly she and her team worked so when I did meet them in person but felt like I was meeting friends who knew exactly what I wanted. “I was so overwhelmed when I first started looking for florists for our wedding. There are so many options, and I didn’t even know where to start until I found Poppy. They break down the process and steps, making it super easy, almost to the point that it doesn’t feel real. To start, you meet with a floral consultant where you talk through your wedding details, the vibe you’re going for, the general needs, etc. Then they walk you through a list of various wedding floral options: bouquets, table arrangements, signage florals, ceremony florals, etc., and you start to narrow down what you want. In each section, they have a grouping of photos, and you can either select something from that or ask for more options. You can also tweak what they have shown (I picked florals that had eucalyptus in them and requested everything be switched to ruscus). After that, you have a while to go back in and adjust until a deadline, but they accommodated some last-minute adds I had as well. Our consultant was Sophia, and she was super responsive and wonderful to work with. Closer to the wedding, you get assigned a local florist who does the actual designing/styling and installing, and we were lucky enough to get Ron, who matched our inspo images EXACTLY. Everything was so beautiful, and I was so in love with my bouquet. He was also incredibly nice and set everything up so quickly. If you’re looking for something to make the whole floral selection easy, simple, and beautiful (also super transparent with costs), definitely go with Poppy!!”

“Our original DJ had a family emergency and I reached out to Jeremy one week before our wedding. He was somehow available which was the greatest miracle of our wedding. We were so stressed and he immediately calmed us down and ended the call with "let's have a wedding!" Given the timing, we didn't have time for another call before the day. He had a comprehensive questionnaire that covered every situation we wanted a specific song for (including our cake cutting song) so another call was not needed and he did everything perfectly. He is extremely adaptable and stepped in so many times without needing to be asked (helping corral people for pictures). He followed every song we wanted (and didn't want), but also was able to nail the vibe when given vague directions (chill love songs during our cocktail hour). The best part was when we opened up the dance floor, my Fitbit logged me as doing "sport" for 2 hours straight at one point and I did over 10,000 steps just from dancing. He kept people dancing and people loved it, my wife and I both had multiple people tell us our wedding was the one of the best they had been to BECAUSE of the DJ. My favorite part was he genuinely loves what he does, you could see the joy on his face when he made a great transition between songs and that energy was infectious. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is extremely organized, professional, and fun. Jeremy, thank you for making our wedding unforgettable!”

When I am not behind the camera or editing photos, I enjoy short Uber rides to bottomless brunch on the weekends; right now mimosas and I kinda have a thing going on! I have a special relationship with bourbon and FIRMLY believe in putting food on the grill during late afternoons should be the norm. I am blessed to be married to the happiest person on earth (I am so serious), who just happens to double as my favorite person. She keeps me grounded and never fails to remind me how great she is.
