Having grown up on a farm in Central Illinois, I am a filmmaker living in Chicago. I began doing wedding videography in 2017 while living in Bend, Oregon. I love intimate, small-scale weddings and elopements.

Better 1/2 started in 2011 in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2019, I relocated to Chicago. I've filmed about 30 weddings for couples with a range of venues and guest counts. What's consistent is my style, which is personal and beautiful. I tell each couple's wedding story in a tailor-cut video, highlighting the big moments and spotlighting the small ones.

Hey there! I'm Fernando Ávila. I founded Ellyce Wedding Films while my wife and I were planning our wedding in 2019. By this point, I had already accumulated 15 years of experience shooting wedding videos and my wife simply couldn't understand why I wasn't booking my own clients. She encouraged me to explore the idea. So, here we are. I named my company after my wife, Ebony Ellyce Ávila.

S&S Wedding Films was founded on a shared passion for using cinematography and storytelling in combination with profound moments to create magical, immersive films that will be cherished a lifetime. Hi! I'm Soohyun, I began working with my creative partner Saehee shorty after our wedding in 2009.
