Hi, I am Rachel. I am originally from Chicago, although I have been in Portland since 2006 , so some my consider me a Portlander at this point. I'm a full time wedding photographer. My style is clean and candid. I vary between moody and true color depending on the light. I have been operating my business since 2009. I have photographed 200+ amazing weddings. I have a Bachelors in Photojournalism, which I received from one of my favorite places in the world, Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. I packed up my car and moved to Oregon in 2006, from my hometown of Chicago. I met my husband in Oregon and we now have three beautiful children.

I am a Portland native through and through! My love for photography rivals only my love of traveling. My interest in photography began at a young age, thanks to my Uncle and 8th grade math teacher. After over 18 years of experience, I have mastered the art of putting my clients at ease and creating an environment for them to be present and most importantly be themselves. I have a deep passion for not only the images I create but for the people I work with. I truly consider it an honor to be a part of someone’s wedding day and the images we create together become reflective memories for the couple, not just snapshots in time.

I love my job. For me, it’s kind of two-fold. One amazing part of the job is knowing that you are part of a couple’s most memorable day of their life—and assuming it goes well, they will remember you for it for the rest of their life. I am a photographer and artist from the Pacific Northwest with Costa Rican and Scottish roots. My favorite things are dinosaurs, exploring new cities, board games, soccer, National Parks, and whiskey. I have been fortunate to photograph 200+ weddings in my PNW home, to ruins in Scotland, cityscapes in Vietnam, to the beaches of Maui, and beyond! I’m a documentary aficionado turned wedding filmmaker based out of Portland, Oregon. When I’m not filming weddings, you can find me hanging out with my dog, Werner Herzdog (seen in the photo), having happy hour with friends or scheming my next video endeavor. Just a little backstory on how I got into this business. When I was a child, I loved taking pictures of everything. And I mean everything! (I get that from my mom.) Now my dad didn't share this same joy as me because back then it was all film and every snapshot I took...he knew he had to pay to develop. We love to look back on that time of my life now and see where it got me. Its a funny story to reflect on, but so rewarding to see a joy turn into a passion and that passion turn into a career!
