Wedding cakes can range from $3–$15 per serving . Tiered cakes are more expensive than sheet cake styled cakes.

How should we cut our wedding cake?

Traditionally, you’d do a ceremonial cutting first, often holding hands on the knife. The caterer then takes the cake away and cuts it into slices to distribute to guests. If you’re slicing it up yourselves, take apart the tiers and cut them into small rectangles. Remember to wrap and freeze the top layer for your anniversary!

How should we transport our wedding cake?

Very carefully! Ideally, your cake will be delivered by your bakery, which should have plenty of experience transporting cakes. You can also purchase special boxes made to protect the tiers.

When should we order our wedding cake?

Set up tastings (the fun part!) around 7 months out. Once you’ve decided, place your order.

She is punctual and so reliable. Erin took inspiration from a picture of a bouquet I also sent my florist and made it come to life on our cupcakes. From afar, I thought she found real florals to decorate the desserts with or something. Only up close could you tell it was her carefully and gorgeously crafted work. Her broad menu and offer to take requests made it so easy to build a well rounded menu that my husband and I, and our guests will remember for a very long time. We wound up having cupcakes, mini donuts, various cheesecakes, crumb cake and a small cutting cake. “We cannot recommend Frosted Swirl enough! We used Frosted Swirl for our wedding for a small cutting cake, cupcakes, dessert bars and mini cheesecakes. They were such a hit! Our guests loved them and even took some to go! Valerie made the whole process easy and was friendly and responded quickly to my emails. She offers a sampling of the mini cupcakes for purchase in order to trial the flavors, which I thought was such a great idea (and they were delicious)! We will absolutely be using Frosted Swirl again for any future events!”

“End your dessert hunt here! Daniela was SO wonderful to work with and so very talented! We initially reached out to her for a wedding cake and ended up going with one of her smaller cake designs supplemented by an assortment of her dessert minis. We ordered extra dessert minis and had to-go boxes for our guests to take home as favors. I would definitely recommend ordering more than you think you need-they were such a hit and went much faster than we anticipated! We were blown away with how delicious everything was, and received so many compliments from our guests! We loved that all of her cake flavor pairings felt special and elevated, I had cake set aside for us to take home and ate two slices for breakfast the next day-SO GOOD! Her designs are absolutely stunning. I gave her some rough guidelines/inspiration and she ran with it and created the most gorgeous cake-better than any inspiration photo! Just amazing!”
