Wedding cakes can range from $3–$15 per serving . Tiered cakes are more expensive than sheet cake styled cakes.

How should we cut our wedding cake?

Traditionally, you’d do a ceremonial cutting first, often holding hands on the knife. The caterer then takes the cake away and cuts it into slices to distribute to guests. If you’re slicing it up yourselves, take apart the tiers and cut them into small rectangles. Remember to wrap and freeze the top layer for your anniversary!

How should we transport our wedding cake?

Very carefully! Ideally, your cake will be delivered by your bakery, which should have plenty of experience transporting cakes. You can also purchase special boxes made to protect the tiers.

When should we order our wedding cake?

Set up tastings (the fun part!) around 7 months out. Once you’ve decided, place your order.

Our reception was outdoors and there was some concern about our cake being in the sun for several hours, which required some coordinating with the venue about when the cake should be delivered. Natasha took it upon herself to talk directly with the venue in the week leading up to the wedding, insisting that it was not something she wanted us to have to worry about, and for that I was so grateful! “She is very responsive and easy to work with. When looking for a cake for your big day, it can be stressful, especially when a lot of your inspiration comes from random photos on Pinterest. However, Daniela made the whole process smooth and stress-free. She not only used my photos as starting place, but she reached out to the original cake designer/ baker to get a better look and understanding of how she could achieve the cake of my dreams. People kept coming over throughout the night and commenting on how beautiful the designs were (we went with a trio of cakes based on our number of guests). We also selected the Biscoff flavor (Cookie Butter) for our main cake, and WOW! It was beyond delicious. So different than anything we have ever had, and my husband was so pleased!
