Every single detail was executed perfectly. Every interaction was professional, timely, and warm. For the whole year leading up to our wedding, we felt incredibly supported and cared for. I had so many questions, and the Willowdale team was so prompt, helpful, and kind in their responses. As for the actual wedding, it was a total dream. The food is actually the best food ever... wedding food or not. It's been two months and everyone is still talking about it. The space is GORGEOUS and feels intimate and special while still accommodating larger weddings. Our coordinator, Julia, and the team worked with the florist and all the decor we dropped off ahead of time to execute the design and vision better than I could ever dream up. “TL;DR - when they say full-service, they mean full-service! Easily the best food and drink we (and most of our guests) have ever had at a wedding. The staff and especially our coordinator, Erica, were highly communicative, accommodating, enthusiastic, and went above and beyond to make our wedding as great as it could have been! Well worth the price! It's worth noting that they were partnered with our venue, Olio Event Space in Peabody, MA, but I have little doubt that they'd do an excellent job just about anywhere else they're willing to go. We had first heard of Vinwood through our venue because they had specific requirements and a list of partnered vendors we more or less had to choose from without a ton of hassle. While this could have easily become a nightmare, nearly all doubt was washed away as soon as we attended a tasting they hosted. We got to experience firsthand how great their food and staff were before getting into the thick of things, and we were able to get a head start on picking entrees, hors d'oeuvres, linens, and chinaware while we were at the tasting. When we had to lock things in, Vinwood was willing and able to accommodate our handful of allergic/picky eaters and create a dessert spread (cookie, brownie, and ice cream sundae bar) for us because we didn't want a wedding cake. From there until the big day, they remained very communicative about what they needed from us and what we could expect from them throughout the process, even going so far as to help us map out the order of operations in the wedding! Finally, on the big day, Erica and her staff took care of us throughout and were all very kind and personable. They went above and beyond in helping us decorate and brighten up the space to make it perfect for us, and we were once again blown away by the service, food, and drinks. We had lots of comments during and after the wedding about how great the food and drinks were, too. They took care of everything in the table and chair setups/moves/breakdown with what Vinwood, the venue, and we provided, all in a timely manner. I'll never forget one of the staff stopping to let me know the bar was closing, and despite getting lost in conversation again and again, she personally brought over a drink for me with a wink and a smile when she saw me failing to get away. If you couldn't tell by now, I can't sing them enough praise - thank you, Vinwood!!”

Long Hill is a property of The Trustees of Reservations, a Massachusetts non-profit corporation. From 1916 to 1979, Long Hill was the summer home of noted author and editor of The Atlantic Monthly, Ellery Sedgwick. He summered here with his first wife, Mabel Cabot Sedgwick, an accomplished horticulturist, gardener, and author of The Garden Month by Month, and his second wife, Marjorie Russell Sedgwick, a rare plants specialist—both of whom created a delightful, enchanting landscape, surrounded by more than 100 acres of woodland. Today, visitors delight in the beauty of Long Hill’s structured and naturalistic gardens as well as a network of woodland trails. A diverse collection of trees, shrubs, and distinctive perennial plants provide color during the growing season, peaking in May and June and providing structure and beauty throughout the year.

“Long Hill was a dream, it felt like a private fairy garden. Gorgeous location and the perfect size for us to take photos privately and guests to explore but not feel too far away (for wrangling from cocktail hour to dinner for example). The Long Hill staff were super communicative and responsive, sometimes a little stressful to work with as it felt like there were a number of restrictions but this really translated to a very stream-lined and well-organized wedding day as they brought up any potential issues early and then on the actual day they were super, super supportive and great to work with. They do have a list of 5 set caterers you need to work with, we were given an exception because of a dietary restriction my in-laws have (need to pay a 1000 fee), but this was tricky as Long Hill expects caterers to take on much more than just food. You'll also want to rent a dance floor (700 in the area) as the under tent area is brick. We had 115 of us total with buffet & dance floor, it was cozy & lovely but any more than 120 would feel tight to me. We were able to have a ceremony for an extra 1000 and then the reception was 5,200 for 5-10 on a Friday. In addition to the gorgeous gardens and beautiful cocktail area off the porch, we could take photos inside which was really lovely and a great break from the heat (our wedding day was 85 and VERY humid). Felt very professionally run and they worked well with my dear friend who was our day-of-coordinator and we just feel extremely grateful to have such a gorgeous location!”
