Lesly's love for sweets & baking started at a very young age. A Pastry Arts graduate from The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College, she launched The Sugary in 2017. Located in the Rittenhouse neighborhood of Philadelphia, The Sugary is a retail storefront specializing in cakes, cupcakes & cookies. Their menu consists of innovative desserts that are made from scratch using high quality ingredients. We customize your order to have a creative look and unique flavor profile without compromising taste or quality.

I grew up surrounded by celebrations that revolved around food and community and Party Girl is just that. Known for my elaborate, maximalist layer cakes and unique food driven events, I blend high-end local ingredients with childhood favorites, creating flavors and experiences that embody you. My cakes are cloaked in saturated colors, glitter cherries, and extreme piping, giving refined yet a little wild. In 2022, I was honored to receive Best of Philly for my delicious, one of a kind cakes. Whether you’re here for a cake or an event, let’s make it one for the books.

While baking has always been my passion, I was a high school science teacher for 10 years before taking the leap to own my own shop! With the support and love from my family and friends, and the discovery of a beautiful location in our home neighborhood, I am now able bring my treats to a larger audience than what could be met by me alone in my kitchen. I am so happy to have a place that I can love and share love through. Making popcorn here is no joke, every day our customers visit our stores to find us working hard popping, drizzling, laughing, and coating in front of their eyes. There is always something new and exciting to sample. "Turkey Stuffing Popcorn" anyone?!?!?! It starts with corn harvested from nearby Lancaster county. From there we add a mix of inspirations: childhood favorites, family gatherings, and seasonal ingredients.

Janayah is a self-taught baker born & raised in Philadelphia, PA. Janayah has always had a love for cake since she was a young girl. At the age of 12 she began experimenting in her parents kitchen in hopes of finding the perfect recipe. After years of practice and self-discovery, Janayah decided to take a leap of faith after graduating college in 2013 ( s/o Clarion University Alum!!) and decided on a path of entrepreneurship. My name is Naomi Acevedo and I am from the Enchanted Island of Puerto Rico. My husband and our sons came to Philadelphia, PA in 2015, 6 months after I got here. We came to get medical treatment and a better life for those two beautiful and sweet boys (until that time). We welcomed our Princess here, who was born in 2016. We officially started our business in 2018, but we have more than 15 years of experience in this sweet field. My mom used to bake cakes and treats and my father-in-law was a baker (we got his recipes). Here we are growing and expanding and incorporating more items into our menu.
