“We will forever remember our gorgeous Oakland wedding at the Terrace Room. This venue highlights the beauty of Oakland, especially at night. It’s absolutely stunning. Candi (the event coordinator) was super sweet and worked with us faithfully, even through two COVID-19 postponements. After hearing about all the horrors couples went through with unaccommodating venues, Terrace Room made it easy to stick it out with them to have the wedding we originally wanted. Their food is fantastic as well! We keep getting compliments on it from our guests to this day. Choosing Terrace Room meant knocking out many to-do’s off our wedding planning list, as they provide a lot of services in their pricing. Speaking of price, this place can’t be beat. You get a lot for your money. Take a look at their preferred vendor list as well, they have some winners! “We had the absolute best experience hosting our wedding here. Natasha Norman was incredible to work with through the entire planning process. She was clear on pricing, set our expectations well, was incredibly responsive, and helped coordinate the event on the day of the wedding. We asked for some extra time to set up the room and, since the room hadn't been booked the day before the event, she let us come in the day prior to get everything in order. Natasha spoke with our DJ and coordinated for his set-up, which was very helpful. The team setting up the event also did the perfect job of setting up the tables and outdoor chairs exactly as we'd asked. I changed my mind on the arch at the last minute, and they had no problem making the change. The wedding was incredible, our guests felt comfortable in their rooms and were pleased they could bring their dogs so they didn't have to hire a dog-sitter. Everyone was impressed by the view and by the fact that the sun was setting behind the sweetheart table in the Bayview Ballroom. I also want to give a shoutout to the banquet manager who made us feel at home, kindly brought us beverages as we were setting up, and took care of us throughout the stay. I’ve received at least half a dozen compliments on the qualify of the food served, and I felt the pricing was very reasonable – especially when compared to other hotels on the water nearby. I also loved that the hotel provided us a contingency plan if we needed to move our outdoor wedding to the indoors because of rain or anything else. We truly felt special and valued and would use this venue again in a heartbeat.”

“We can't say enough good things about Sequoyah Country Club. Andrea and Sally are the most attentive, responsive, professional, and kind venue coordinators out there. Our wedding was a beautiful success because of them and the SCC staff. They know how to host a wedding -- and it shows. We valued their expertise every step of the way. They've hosted so many weddings that they had great suggestions and solutions to every single thing that came up. Their recommended vendors list is valuable and we used it to hire our great day of coordinator. The venue is beautiful and well cared for inside and out. It shows in our pictures. All of the chairs, linens, glassware, cake stands, etc. were in great condition. The building and grounds are lovely so we didn't need excessive decorations or flowers. We don't live locally and planned the wedding from across the country -- it wasn't an issue with how well organized SCC is. It rained the night before our wedding and was unexpectedly a little colder than we anticipated -- Andrea and Sally helped us adjust our day of plans-- we kept the ceremony outside but moved cocktail hour inside with only a couple hour notice -- no one was stressed, they took care of it all. We had 150 people for an outdoor ceremony and indoor dinner and dancing. Lastly -- we were very happy with the pricing (so many things are included, and if they aren't already included, they're happy to arrange just about anything else!). We felt every single dollar was well spent. We can't recommend the venue enough -- the biggest thank you to Andrea, Sally, and the SCC staff.”

“The moment we walked into Plant Connection SF I knew it was the perfect place to host the kind of unconventional wedding celebration we had in mind. The setting with the plants inside and out was important to me as my mother who is no longer in this realm was a gardener/plant whisperer. I could feel connected to her in the setting. Ali the main coordinator we worked with was very helpful and a great communicator both through email and in person. We really liked having the ability to set up the bar outside and keep the doors open to keep the flow of air circulating as people mixed and mingled. It was a wonderful whirlwind day and it seemed like it was over in a flash, but we keep hearing from people about how much fun they had. We highly recommend Plant Connection SF for people who want to embrace an unconventional setting for a celebration in the heart of the city.”

Its seafood is the best on the West Coast, which means you won't get sand dabs or rex sole if they weren't caught the night before. (You will at other restaurants, which means they aren't fresh, despite the waiter's oleaginous assurances.) The steaks-- especially for a fish house-- are praised by steak lovers (I'm partial to seafood), and the burgers and breakfasts served in Sam's Tavern are the best in town. And since town is San Francisco, that's saying something.”

Omni Hotel San Francisco

“The Omni made an incredible first impression on us. It’s a beautiful & grand space, but there was something very comfortable about it at the same time. That’s mainly due to Jano Paredes, our event coordinator. He was so welcoming & genuinely passionate about creating a special event for us. We toured two other venues, Julia Morgan & Webster Hall. While these two venues are beautiful, there weren’t nearly as caring or appreciative of our business as the Omni. The Omni made the stressful planning process enjoyable (we planned it in about 3 months!) & they were understanding when we had last minute changes & requests. They were also very flexible throughout the wedding planning. They even swapped out some of the beer in their package so they could bring in brands we liked better. Amanda Maggard is amazing. She managed the accommodations for all the guests. Many of our guests also commented on how incredible the check-in was. It was rainy that weekend, so the Omni was quick to offer complimentary umbrellas. They even gave each guest a free drink voucher at the hotel bar! Amanda also made sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable in the Presidential Suite, complete with champagne, ice buckets, & several glasses for my visitors. It’s a lovely space to take getting-ready pictures. I was originally worried the grand ballroom wasn’t going to fit our vision & was torn on using the same space for the ceremony & reception (they have another room available if you’d prefer not to do this), but it was gorgeous! The spaces felt totally unique between the ceremony & the reception. The grand ballroom really provides a blank slate to create something beautiful & it can be difficult to appreciate when it’s completely empty. The mezzanine where the cocktail hour was held is beautiful & needs no additional decorations & the dim sum buffet was a huge hit. Guests loved the reception dinner menu. We went with a plated dinner selection of sea bass, chicken, or oyster mushrooms. The crab soup was delicious & by far the most popular. The passion fruit cheesecake was exceptional, but we also offered our guests a lovely Marjolaine cake slice. Later that evening, the Presidential suite where I initially got ready was transformed into our honeymoon suite. We were greeted with chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, & two custom Omni robes with our initials embroidered on them (my new initials since I was changing my name). It was so touching that it brought tears to our eyes. The Financial District was the optimal neighborhood to host our wedding. It was very safe & picturesque. We had a several family members nervous about coming to San Francisco because of the negative media coverage, but they all fell in love with the city by the end of the weekend. I know Webster Hall wouldn’t have given us the same treatment (they didn’t seem to care if they had our business or not). Julia Morgan was wonderful, but with the Omni, we just had a feeling we’d be in the best possible hands by people who genuinely cared, & we were right. Now, we love the Omni so much that we had Valentine’s Day at Monte’s two weeks after our wedding & the hotel surprised us with dessert & champagne, as well as a card signed by their staff congratulating us on our wedding. It’s a bar we now frequent because of the quality of service, food/drinks, & of course, our wonderful memories there. The Omni was the absolute best decision of our entire wedding.”

Leading up to our big day, Mahogany was wonderful in helping us coordinate and prepare a wedding that felt authentic and true to our vision. Father Greg guided us as we prepared to commit our lives to each other, and gave us such invaluable counsel. The Grace staff was lovely and professional. Our wedding was something straight out of a FAIRYTALE. Months later, people still tell me how unforgettable and awe-inspiring it all was. The venue is breathtaking and the acoustics are incredible. “We were looking for a beautiful low key venue for our wedding. The Lighthouse was by far even better than we imagined! We primarily worked with Maggie who was fantastic! She was very realistic when it came to helping us stay within our budget and gave us some excellent vendor recommendations accordingly. We had a few meetings with her along the way and she listened to what we wanted and helped us stay on task getting everything sorted out. She was super flexible and accommodating with us on the day of the wedding. Maggie and Alma were both there the day of the wedding and they were both busy making sure everything was running smoothly! In addition to how wonderful they are, this venue is the most beautiful! We used the outside and inside area. “We found Hastings House by looking for venues that catered specifically to small weddings (20 people) and fell in love with the garden and seaside scenery. Linda was a pleasure to work with; she gave us great local recommendations for hair stylists/MUA, florals, officiants, and reception venues in addition to helping us work through the complicated details of our guest seating and staggered arrival times. The classical guitar music her husband played during the ceremony preparation really stepped up the already romantic air of the garden. We hired an external photographer since we wanted pictures of our reception as well, but Linda was so generous as to take a few stunning photos of our ceremony as a bonus. She also took the time to walk our photographer around the garden and offered advice for photo framing and staging. Linda and Richard were both very accommodating of our wedding vision and they played a huge part in making our special day every ounce of wonderful!”

Built in 1871, Cow Track Ranch sweeps from the floor of Nicasio Valley surrounded by rolling hills and trees. Located 1.25 miles down a gravel road, the ranch is a quiet location with an authentic rustic vibe. The reception barn, an original 1970's hay barn, displays a collection of antique gold mirrors, dimming chandeliers, bistro lighting and a built-in stage. The barn includes farm tables and décor. “Los Altos History Museum was the perfect venue for our early summer wedding! We love that they allow you to be creative with the space and make it your own. We had the ceremony in front of their large oak tree, reception in the open courtyard, and cocktail area in between those two. The venue was large enough to have events in different sections of the property (ceremony, cocktail hours, reception, dance floor, photobooth, dessert/coffee area, etc.) throughout the night while accommodating our 140 guests without feeling cramped, but still had the cozy feel. There is so much greenery around the property that photos from all angles turned out beautifully. Additionally, though the space is open, the sun was never an issue for us or our guests. Lisa from LAHM was so easy to work with, clear with instructions, and responsive/patient with any questions I had throughout the planning process all the way to the day of the wedding.”
