“I was hesitant to book anyone for our wedding photography at first — it wasn’t personal, I just felt unsure and overwhelmed by the whole process. But John Barone completely changed that. He followed up thoughtfully over email and offered to set up a call. From the moment we started talking, I felt like I was catching up with an old friend. He was clearly the most capable person I had spoken to, and by the end of the call, I was completely sold on him and his team. I had my heart set on a documentary-style photographer, and I was especially drawn to Stuart’s work. I followed his portfolio online and was continually impressed with every post. Leading up to the wedding, John was more of a help than he probably realizes. He took the reins on scheduling the entire day — something that should’ve been in my wheelhouse (I’m a planner and a project manager by day), but somehow felt incredibly daunting. John made it easy and even encouraged me to book extra time with our venue. Thank god he did. Every bit of advice he gave was spot on, from how much time we needed for getting ready, to first look, to portraits. I’m a high energy self taught photographer, I started this beautiful journey 4 years ago. Lucid Memories Photography by Delycia has been published in about 15 portrait magazines and participated in countless collaborations with other great small businesses in my area. “There aren’t enough words to describe the absolute icon that is Delycia. My husband and I initially reached out to her because she had photographed weddings at our original venue, and we were completely sold after looking through her portfolio. Her moody, emotional, and intimate photos were exactly what we envisioned. We are not “cookie-cutter” wedding photo people, and with every set of photos we reviewed, we found ourselves literally gasping. Our gut feeling was only reinforced once we started talking to her and getting to know her. Neither my husband nor I had ever had professional photos taken, but our engagement shoot was so much fun. It felt like hanging out with a long-time friend, coupled with Delycia’s incredible ability to give just enough direction to create stunning photos while still capturing “us.” We couldn’t stop gushing about her afterward. Not to mention, she sent us first-look photos during our wedding afterparty, delivered final digital edits within a month, and had our prints ready within two months! Located at the Jersey Shore, where most photographers focus on sunny beach weddings, I was looking for something different. Our wedding took place in the fall, full of rich earth tones and a fun, edgy vibe that centered not just on romance, but on the presence of our children. It was important to us that the day felt authentic, emotional, and full of movement. And, just to make it more fun, ours was a Halloween wedding. We had a formal ceremony followed by a costume reception, and Eric embraced every bit of it. He didn’t just roll with our unique requests—he elevated them.
