Matt was amazing and fun to work with! He gave good direction for us to follow and tolerated our weird personalities. He was so timely in getting us a preview gallery, just a couple of days after our wedding, and now we can’t wait to see the rest! Highly recommend!

A Charleston Wedding Photographer with a fierce love for storytelling, fostering memories and capturing those moments that you will want to treasure forever. I get to tell your story. And, I think that’s pretty cool. I love traveling everywhere and anywhere, talking with my hands, buying plants (and attempting to keep them alive), and spending as much time as I can with my loved ones. I have lived in Boston, Paris, and New York City, and am now lucky enough to call Charleston home, while also still traveling the world for my clients. You can usually find me on my back porch in downtown Charleston, right next to my favorite little park.

tldr: Jessica is amazing and I don’t think you can go wrong with her if this is the style of photos you like I had a lot of difficulty picking a photographer as I’m pretty picky with photos. I knew I wanted something bright and light, with kind of a whimsical or ethereal vibe, but it was really hard finding the style until I came across the “fine art” style. Jessica’s name came up while researching this style and I decided to reach out to her among a few other fine art photographers. I definitely hoped talks would go well with Jessica as the others I contacted ended up either not responding or were wildly out of my budget. Pre-Planning: Jessica was wonderful throughout this process. She promptly responded to my emails and answered questions clearly. I never felt like I was left in the dark for any part of the process. When I sent her the timeline of the ceremony/reception, she quickly came up with a timeline to slot in all the photos to be taken ahead of time at the location (We had access to the venue for a little over an hour prior to the ceremony). She also asked for a list of family photos that we wanted to take. This made it very easy at the wedding as she could call out people’s name to make sure everyone that was supposed to be in the pictures, were in the pictures. Jessica also sent over a list of ideas for detail shots and explained she could do this ahead of time. We didn’t want extra pictures of these and decided against it, however, I still thought it was very thoughtful of her to offer. Wedding Day: I loved her energy at the wedding. She was very calm and felt very competent. She directed my husband and I throughout the pictures, showing us poses etc. During family and wedding party photos, even though we had many bodies to fit in the frame in quite a few pictures, she led us through them with ease and the entire experience was very stress free (or as stress free as can be at a wedding lol). The venue was quite dim at specific locations, but the final results did not reflect that at all. The pictures were bright and did not look like they were taken in the dark at all. (This is a little off topic but I loved the little apron with pockets she wore for her equipment. So cute) I’m not sure when Jessica had the time, but there were pictures around the venue which were so beautiful. I definitely feel like the day was captured through the pictures. Post Wedding: Jessica sent us a sneak peak 2 days after the wedding containing 23 pictures. They turned out great and were beautiful. You can see examples on her website so I won’t elaborate, but they really are that good. The full gallery was sent almost a month after the wedding (minus 2 days) with instructions on purchasing prints or an album attached. The full download contained 650ish files, including the sneak peek pictures. Half of which were black and white, so this matched up pretty perfectly with Jessica’s estimation of the amount of photos when we spoke in the pre-planning stage.

Hey, I'm Mary! It's nice to meet you. Summing up who I am in an "about me" is always difficult. What you must know: (1) I'm a nerd. If you want to talk video games, LOTR or Doctor Who, we HAVE to sit down for a bourbon or a coffee. (2) Yes, I will be out on that dance floor with you snapping away while joining in on the fun. And (3), while I'm a photographer first, supporting you during the planning process feels crucial to me - from building a timeline to having your back any way I can. Woman/LGBTQIA+ Owned

Awarded Best of Zola
We got very lucky finding Mary as our photographer. She was our photographer for our engagement party, engagement photos, and the wedding day. She always made time to talk and keep an open line of communication! She was great at making us feel comfortable and giving directions (which we definitely needed). Mary is also extremely thoughtful and I really appreciate the little things she had done to make everything as perfect as possible!

Hi there! I’m Emma CotéEwers, your East Coast & Destination Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer! My work is a seamless blend of traditional heirloom portraiture, lively artistic shots, and a little photojournalism if the day calls for it. With a true-to-color, film-inspired approach, I strive to craft visuals that capture love, laughter, and those beautifully authentic moments that weave together the story of your wedding! I feel like these should include fun facts? Patsy Cline’s Walkin’ After Midnight is my favorite song and I am currently on my 8th nostalgic binge of Gilmore Girls (which might just be fueling my banter lately).

Awarded Best of Zola
I cannot say enough good things about Emma - she is always flexible, knowledgeable, and shows up with the best energy to every event! When I wasn’t sure where I wanted to take bridals, she was happy to make suggestions based on the vibe I was going for - and I very much appreciated one less thing on my plate! She delivers high quality, beautiful photos every single time and is the artist behind so many of my most cherished memories! I would absolutely recommend Coté and Camera - you won’t regret it!

Ney was amazing throughout the planning process and the day of! We loved our engagement photos and were floored by our wedding photos! He was able to capture a lot of laughs and love through the photos. My husband hates posing for photos, but Ney was able to guide both of us for the perfect picture. Unfortunately our wedding day got rained out by a tropical storm so we weren’t able to take many of the planned photos outside. Ney was super kind and offered to meet up with us after our honeymoon to take those shots that we couldn’t the day of. Forever grateful for that. Thank you so much! I consider myself VERY lucky to do what I do, and I appreciate that fact every day. It's my goal to tell the story of your wedding the best way I know how- to be a photojournalist, fellow enthusiast, and friend. When you invest in me as your photographer, not only are you receiving my experience, my vision, and my creativity- but you, my friend are my number one priority. We will develop a friendship... and the one thing I never do... is let a friend down.

Awarded Best of Zola
Where do I even begin? Kris is an amazing photographer and an even more amazing person. She made us feel comfortable from the moment we first spoke with her over the phone, assuring us that we were going to have a lot of fun! And that’s exactly what we did. She took us out for drinks and a bite to eat before our engagement session to loosen us up, which was so thoughtful and very effective LOL. Throughout the whole process, she was responsive, helpful and calming. She always went above and beyond the standard photographer call of duty. One thing I really appreciated is that she took the time and effort to get to know our guests during the rehearsal and the welcome party the night before our wedding. This made the day-of flow more seamlessly and ensured that she captured all of the most important people in our wedding. We love Kris and could not recommend her enough!!

Alyssa Marie Photography

For as long as I can remember I have always loved to create. My passion for photography started when I was a teen. As I honed in on my craft I began to photograph on a more professional level right out of high school, but stepped away for academic pursuits. After completing both a bachelors and master's degree in Anthropology, I came full circle, determining that a career in doing something creative was where my heart lies. Whether it is your wedding, or any other special moment in your life, I cherish the opportunity to document it in a way that highlights the artistic elements, while still capturing an authenticness that is uniquely you.

Awarded Best of Zola
Alyssa was very communicative in advance of our wedding day and was receptive of any requests we had, travel to our venue and was quick to provide our photos to us following the wedding day. Alyssa is based in Tennessee but met us in Michigan for our wedding day. She is extremely kind and provides exceptional quality photos at a competitive price. We cannot reccomend her enough!

Megan Pitts Photography

5.0

  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,100
  • Serves Wadmalaw Island, SC

My philosophy is simple... I am here to tell the story of the day you married the love of your life. I want to document the excitement of you getting ready with your best friends, the look on your mother's face when she sees you in your dress for the first time, and the tears your father cries during the father - daughter dance, and that "Oh my God, we are really married?!" look of joy on your faces as you walk down the aisle as a married couple for the first time. I will pose you and guide you when necessary, but I believe when you are focusing on each other and really soaking in those moments --- that's when the magic happens.

Megan was truly the best photographer we could have possibly chosen for our engagement and wedding. She was so easy to work with both leading up to our big day, and on wedding day itself (shoutout to her for saving the day more than once on wedding day when the weather and my stress got the best of me!). We are absolutely in love with our photos, and would hire her again in a heartbeat.

From day one our experience with Rivkah was exceptional! I have admired her work for years and always dreamed that she would photograph my wedding one day. When it was time for engagement photos, my fiancé knew how much I loved her work so we booked a session with her. We went to Virginia and not only did we have the best time hanging with her, our photos turned out stunning! There was no question when it came time to book our wedding photographer who it would be. She met with us before the wedding to go over things & just encourage us. The day of the wedding ran so smoothly, her and her assistant not only gave us beautiful photos but they were so helpful too! Every one of our guests commented how kind they were & how it seemed like they got shots of every moment that day. Rivkah is the sweetest, most calming soul which is what you want on such a big day. She brings so much warmth, peace & light to your day while being a friend you can turn to in those big moments. When we received our photos, I didn’t think I could love one more until I saw the next! The photos tell the story of your day/session and are truly magazine worthy. Her work is beautiful and truly could make you cry with how stunning each photo is. She has such a gift & if you get the chance to experience it, do it. You won’t regret it. She made our dreams come true.
