After the trial, Jasmine was great at asking for my feedback and incorporating it into the final look for my wedding day. She's also mindful of tailoring her approach to your specific needs to help her work last longer. Make sure to tell her about your skin type and any specific concerns, like curls falling out of your hair easily, or oily eyelids for myself which might have affected the longevity of one eye's eyeshadow. Aside from that and a couple other minor touch ups needed throughout the day (grateful for her touch up kit!), the rest of my hair and makeup stayed all night long on my wedding day. I loved my look and thought it was even better than the trial! Even though she isn't a professional hairstylist, Jasmine really nailed it with my hair. It stayed flawless all day and night, despite the dress changes and jewelry adjustments throughout the day and I received multiple compliments on my hair! She's also easy going and nice to talk to - I really enjoyed the time spent chatting with her while getting ready in the morning. It was a great, peaceful way to start the busy day. “Danica serves the Bay Area and I am so glad I found her. I hired her as my makeup artist for our celebration and was so happy with the work that I have already enlisted her services for two other events. Her portfolio focuses on soft and/or natural glam. Danica helped to make suggestions and was patient with me as my brief for my initial consult was open and somewhat vague—I didn’t have a specific look in mind. I just knew I wanted to look like an “enhanced” version of myself. She helped to guide me through my options and we discussed adjustments after my makeup trial once we reviewed her work in natural light. Some things to know: 1.) Do a trial. Just do it. It removes the stress for everyone leading into a big event. 2.) Have some idea of what you do/don’t like or at least be prepared to have an opinion 3.) Take time to what you care about; for me my big three were: identifying the right foundation color, ensuring my lashes helped to open up my hooded eyes (vs seeing my lashes before me you saw the rest of me) and sculpting my face without creating harsh lines. There are some things about makeup that I don’t normally think about that makeup artists will ask you. Examples of this will be type of liner you use (soft by using a pencil or something sharper with a liquid), the color of the liner, etc.). You will learn the hardest thing to nail (surprisingly) is lip color. It’s clear I would hire Danica again (I already have!) and I hope you enjoy your experience with her as well!”

“Ngan's team did hair & makeup for myself, my maid of honor, my sister, and my mom for my wedding at the Claremont Hotel on 10/12/24. I found Ngan through Zola- she stood out because her website was very straightforward (both pictures and prices included) and because her pictures were aligned from what I wanted ("my face but better"). I also specifically wanted someone who could do both hair and makeup since it was one less vendor to worry about finding. Ngan clearly knows what she's doing. Her emails are VERY detailed and straightforward. I did the trial 2 weeks before and she was extremely patient in making sure I looked how I wanted and made adjustments as necessary. I would highly recommend doing the trial- it made getting ready smoother before the wedding, plus my fiance (now husband) and I took advantage of the results of the trial to do a nice dinner later :). Ngan did my hair and makeup for the wedding while a senior assistant (Marilyn) did hair and makeup for my MoH, sister, and mom. It was a very relaxed but productive atmosphere- my sister and MoH literally were doing their nails on the floor of my hotel room while the rest of us got our hair and makeup done. There were multiple conversations going on among the five of us, and it felt pretty natural. Marilyn also made some recs regarding my mom's hair since it was on the shorter side and she wanted curls, but the pictures I found on Pinterest were for hair slightly longer than hers, and my mom ended up looking great! She looked really happy. I'm only giving Ngan and one other vendor I worked with for the wedding five stars- she and Marilyn were such a great fit for us. Her pricing is also VERY fair, especially with how happy we were with the results. 100% would recommend to others!”
