Wedding bouquets vary in cost by bouquet size, quantity and density of blooms, season, and flower type. Your wedding location and cost of living will also have an impact. Couples are often surprised by the amount of their budget spent on wedding flowers. Labor and variable wholesale costs add up quickly! To save, avoid anything that needs to be installed day-of and stick to “wear and carry.” This means the florist simply drops off the arrangements (bouquets, boutineers, centerpieces, etc.) at your venue for you to place yourselves. Something like a ceremony arch, by contrast, requires multiple people to set up and take down on site, often with a service charge of up to 40%. I had some inspo photos and answered their questions, but pretty much the only concrete instructions I gave were that the color palate should be “rainbow but not like ROYGBIV” and that the flowers should be as local as possible, preferably from within 500 miles of Arizona. Even though I didn’t have a clear vision, the flowers were very important to me and I wanted a lot. We wanted sustainable flowers and they made sure to not use any floral foam and that the flowers went to good homes after the ceremony, in addition to sourcing the flowers locally like we asked. “Sofya and I went back and forth with pictures and emails on what my vision was and she executed it flawlessly! I got so many compliments from guests about how gorgeous the flowers were and how the large the roses were. The day of my wedding the weather was horrid for an outside beach wedding. Raining all afternoon and super high winds. We had an arch covered with flowers Sofya worked on. It got ravaged by the wind and rain while we were waiting to see if the rain passed. She stayed at least 3 hours longer to fix the arch and make sure it was gorgeous again for my 20 min ceremony we slipped in between the rain showers. She went above and beyond to help make sure I got my beautiful ceremony flower arch pictures. I could not thank her enough!
