We loved having our wedding at The Evergreen! The staff were so friendly, easy to communicate with, and clear on all the details throughout the planning process. On the big day itself, everything went smoothly thanks to the venue's excellent coordination. The bar service kept pace with our thirsty guests, while the day-of coordinators attended helpfully to any little issue that came up. The cocktail hour in the Loyal Legion space was a huge hit with our guests - they're still raving about it! The beautiful, open event space with its exposed brick had our guests impressed, and the large dance floor was put to good use once the drinks got flowing. Overall, The Evergreen offered wonderful value and really helped make our wedding day bright and special. We'd enthusiastically recommend them to any engaged couple looking for a fantastic venue with friendly, clear communication, great vendor recommendations items provided in the rental and excellent service throughout the process.

Venue considerations

My wife and I wanted to get married in a beautiful space, but we didn't want to be forced into a traditional, religious ceremony. Sanctuary Hall was the perfect venue! It's beautiful, with stained glass, old wood, lots of space, even a balcony. It's a very old building, with a good feeling to it. As soon as we saw it, it was easy to picture our ceremony there. Steve was a joy to work with - he was super-accommodating, the paperwork was simple, and he offered us all the options we needed. Additionally, the price was far less than most other places we had looked at. There was a minister available if we wanted, but we chose to have an ordained friend perform the service, which worked out fine. Steve was willing to move around furniture, let us use whichever rooms we wanted for preparation, changing, signing of documents, and so on. There was also an organist – Grant – available for the service. He was also amazing to work with, coming up with arrangements of music for us. Everyone was able to meet for a rehearsal a few weeks before the ceremony, which helped things run smoothly. The actual ceremony was beautiful, with everything coming together as planned. They even rang the bell for us as we left the church :) I highly recommend Sanctuary Hall to anyone looking for an amazing space in Portland. Easy to get to, garage parking nearby, and just an all-around excellent experience. ----- This review was produced without the use of AI, generative technology, grammar-checking/suggesting software, chatbots, or other assistive tools, other than a simple spell checker.
